I was at Wal-Mart with my one and a half year old granddaughter and her two and a half year old brother. Without any warning my granddaughter started smiling and waving while saying hello to everyone we walked passed. No one seemed to notice her eager greetings, as if her little welcoming voice wasn't enough to pull them out of their busy schedule.

I smiled at her enthusiasm and warm welcome to the people around us. I thought about how different our world would be if all of us could express our joy like a little child. A child who was living her life right now without the dismal clutter human beings carry around on their shoulders.

In today's society we are constantly bombarded with devastating disasters, disputes that lead to war, and the reality of serious debilitating diseases. It consumes us and so we become numb to their existence. It is not until it strikes someone we know that we stop what we are doing and think about how fragile life can be. Sometimes it takes coming face to face with cancer before we begin to understand that in an instant everything about our world can come crashing down all around us.

If God loves people why do some people get life threatening diseases in their twenties? A cancer that produces tumors, which eat away at their very life, leaving them in excruciating pain. A cancer that is fought with every drug necessary only to leave the person lifeless and crumpled into a swollen empty shell of nothingness.

In disbelief friends and relatives who had lost years of communicating with this person suddenly stream into hospitals to pay their last respect to a near death man. Questions arise in their minds why him and not me?

Death in this world can shake the belief system of a strong healthy man bringing him to his knees as to why this would happen to his best friend. It can have an irreversible effect on mothers and fathers who see a once vibrant and strong son die leaving them behind instead of the other way around. It has an impact that makes a person stop what they are doing and reflect on why they were born into this world in the first place!

If the only reason for our being is to raise a family and live a good life then why do people die young? A wasted life, where a person was taken so young that he never experienced fatherhood, can shock our senses and make us look to God for answers.

In our desire to find answers to life's hard questions we search for a relationship with the invisible God. Searching for the unseen is as great a mystery as understanding why we live on earth where there are so many bad things that can destroy people's lives. Why are we here? Why did my friend die of cancer? If there is a God, why would He allow my son to die so young?

In the beginning our world was once perfect without pain or fear, but everything changed when Adam and Eve were deceived by Satan. Satan persuaded them to desire the knowledge between good and bad. Immediately, Adam and Eve were cast out of the perfect garden of Eden in order to be tested in ways that would allow them to understand why God's way is better than Satan's way.

Their actions were the start of a different world composed of opposites. A world where we became the players in the world game of life. A life game that demanded that we make choices from the testing we experienced through real life situations for either good or evil.

Because evil was allowed into the world child baring became hard, but the desire for sex became heightened in order to assure the creation of life. This is the reason why marriage became necessary in order to establish strong families that would teach their children about God. This also is the reason why sex was perverted and how it opened our eyes to the evils of rape, incest and adultery.

Another thing that happened was the land became cursed and food no longer just appeared, now Adam had to cultivate the land and pull the weeds. This made man develop technologies that lead to building civilizations and establishing cultures dividing the world into opposing countries. Continents came into being and as a result civilizations fought each other over land.

Cain killed Abel to show us how evil murder was. Because a man could kill another man, wars sprang up teaching men the difference between godly societies and evil countries. Laws formed giving us instructions on how to govern and live with each other in peace.

Genesis 4:25&26, "Adam and his wife had another son. She said, 'God has given me a son to replace Abel, whom Cain killed.' So she named him Seth. Seth had a son whom he named Enosh. It was then that people began using the Lord’s holy name in worship."

From the moment of the murder, Cain became Satan's pawn for evil as if he were on an invisible chess board. A chess board where the opposing force was Seth who chose to fight for God and good. Looking at our world as a game opens our eyes to human suffering. Human death shows us how great the stakes are when we are in a world game and how each life has a purpose that is greater than the seen.

Being made with freewill gives us the ability to make choices in the game of life. Acknowledging God versus Satan, opens our lives to the invisible world of angels that navigate us through life's dramas so we might gain revelations over good versus bad.

Genesis 28: 12, "He dreamed that he saw a stairway reaching from earth to heaven, with angels going up and coming down on it."

Everything about life shows us why bad things happen to people. There must be disease in order to teach us that it is bad. There must be factions fighting against each other so we can understand why war is evil. In order to gain revelation we must be faced with tests that open our eyes to the real purpose behind our world and why God gave us life in an corrupt world.

A young man or woman dies of cancer in order for others to gain a revelation they would not have understood. It inspires people to fight for causes that lead to breast cancer awareness and regular exams in order to fight the disease. It challenges young and old to donate time and money to foundations that invent cancer fighting drugs and new technologies. It directs people to build hospitals that are established to fight against evil diseases that attack children.

Because some good people give their lives in the fight against cancer other people are saved. When you live in a world that is filled with so much evil you must have God on your side in order to win your game of life. God is love and He is the author of everything that is good. God did not invent cancer, Satan did!

God inspires people to fight against disease by becoming doctors and spiritual healers. He builds societies that give human beings rights to a good life. He brings order through establishing democracies in a world that is in chaos, because He loves people.

Satan wants to destroy a person's life. He infiltrates the world with sickness and disease in order to destroy lives. He inspires wars in evil countries. He is the author of everything that hurts people.

Understanding the purpose behind our world teaches us to love our friends and family members that are sick. It fills us with compassion and gives our lives purpose. Noticing the smiles of a small child can ease the burden of the challenges we face in life and give us a welcome relief.

Jesus came to the world to save people. He came to heal the sick and feed the hungry. He came to show people that love comes through peace.

No one can come to God unless he comes like a little child. For to know God is to believe without seeing. It is to love without knowing. It is to give without receiving anything in return. The wave and greeting of a small child is a bright light for a dark world.

Deciphering a blessing from a curse isn't always as clear-cut as it may seem. At least that's true for women who have been told that they carry one of the most potentially deadly genetic mutations -- one of the BRCA, or breast cancer genes, associated with an unusually high risk of the disease. While the discovery of the BRCAs are promising -- eventually leading, hopefully, to prevention as medical science advances -- deciding what to do after finding out one has tested positive can be just as difficult as wondering.

"It's taking over my mind," said Deborah Linder, 33, a medical resident at Northwestern University who tested positive.*

For many with high family incidences of breast cancer, the tendency was simply known as "the family curse." Now, at least "the curse" has a name scientists can validate with a term more specific than "family history." But treatment options are varied, and each comes with its own risks.

The majority of those who receive news that they carry the gene opt to have both ovaries removed, which reduces risks of both breast cancer and the often-associated ovarian cancer. About a third have a preventative mastectomy performed, which decreases the likelihood of the disease by ninety percent, and a few prefer to take prophylactic anti-cancer drugs. Still others opt for herbs and natural means of prevention, and even more decide vigilant surveillance is all that's necessary, which can include frequent MRIs (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), mammograms, and sonograms. Yet mammograms and ultrasounds can miss half of cancers in young women, who tend to have denser breasts.

The presence of BRCA1 raises the risk of developing breast cancer anywhere from sixty to ninety percent. An estimated 250,000 American women carry it, though only 30,000 have actually been tested. According to the American Cancer Society, twenty-six percent of new cancer diagnoses are of the breast, and in Texas alone, 2,480 women are expected to die of it this year. Many more will be diagnosed.. In the Lone Star state, breast cancer is the third leading cancer diagnosis, topped only by lung and colon/rectal. Other risk factors, such as obesity, also run high in Texas. Twenty-seven percent of state residents are obese, and new studies on children in Dallas, Austin, and Houston reveal a trend that may still further increase that number.

Such statistics, combined with an overwhelming lack of health coverage -- twenty-five percent of the state as a whole, and twenty-seven percent of its young adults are living without health insurance -- makes facing the issue that much harder for Texan women.

The majority of breast cancer cases, in fact, are not associated with the presence of a BRCA gene. Only five to ten percent are. But stillis the possibility of personal risk being almost twice that of non-carriers worth finding out? Is reducing the chance of getting the disease worth losing the opportunity to have children or breastfeed, which, in itself, would decrease the cancers' likelihoods?

I know the joy that my girls have brought to me, Deborah's mother, a breast cancer survivor, said. If Deb misses it, she wont know what she missed. But having experienced it, I would never have wanted to miss it. Yet, she, too was torn. "Have the surgery as soon as possible," she told her daughter one day after finding out others in her family were diagnosed at the same age as Deborah.*

The question becomes even more complex when one considers that new treatment options may be just around the corner. While the chances of surviving breast cancer are good if detected early, ovarian cancer, which attacks fifty percent of BRCA1 carriers, is deadly seventy-five percent of the time. A new study, published this month in Clinical Cancer Research, revealed that a protease inhibitor used to treat HIV patients may also be useful in treating drug-resistant cancers, including breast cancer. Marketed under the brand name Viracept, nelfinavir proved to have the most powerful effect on tumor growth of six protease inhibitors in laboratory experiments. The drug is currently in Phase 1 of clinical trials for cancer treatment.

Would young women, then, who have been told they carry the genetic mutation, be wise to wait for better detection and treatment methods? It would seem that the science of detecting the presence of the disease is not nearly as advanced as the science of predicting its possibility. It's impossible to know so early on; only more time (years more) will yield the statistics necessary to determine the success rates for different prophylactic options.

If you ask Dr. Patrick I. Borgen, the director of the Brooklyn Breast Cancer Project at the Maimonides Cancer Center, who has performed several preventative mastectomies, he might advise to say goodbye to a part of the body in exchange for saving a life. "Maybe [BRCA carriers'] grandchildren will have better options, but right now a draconian operation is the best thing we can do"

Being aware of your risk factors is an important aspect of taking care of yourself. How you do so will certainly affect you as you age, and eventually your wallet, as well. There is good news for sufferers of BHP (Benign Hypertrophy of the Prostate) and other prostate conditions - new laser treatments are available that have significantly less side effects than the previous treatments (TURP/TUNA), and much shorter recovery durations. In addition, the new laser techniques are ideal for patient who are on blood thinning medications - a not uncommon coincidence, as both conditions tend to crop up in men over fifty.

There are two competing laser technologies for prostate treatments - you should understand the differences: the Holmium (YAG) laser, and PVP (KPT) laser (otherwise known as "Green Light".) The differences between the two are in the wavelength of the lasers used, and the nature of the energy transmitted to the tissues.

PVP LASER (Green Light)

The PVP (KPT) laser has a somewhat long wavelength that penetrates the tissue more deeply - in fact, the energy penetrates more deeply than it ablates (removes). The consequence is that unablated remaining tissue has been affected by the laser. The result can be a phenomenon known as necrosis of the affected tissue: the remaining tissue dies and may require further treatment of other means to remove, down the line.

This can be a serious side effect. Because of the higher possibility of necrosis, PVP is not recommended for larger prostate conditions. It is considered viable for smaller prostates.

HOLMIUM LASER

The Holmium (YAG) laser has a shorter wavelength and penetrates less deeply than the PVP. Energy from the laser is imparted only to the the tissue that is ablated (removed). As a result, there is no necrosis concern.

In a discussion comparing the two technologies (for HoLAP application)[1], a panel of noted urlogists universally concluded the Holmium laser to be preferable to. the PVP laser.

HoLEP - ENUCLEATION OF THE PROSTATE

With the Holmium laser, it is now possible to completely remove the prostate with minimal side effects. This is called enucleation. The prostate is completely detached with fine (2-3mm) laser instruments, and passed through a pair of incisions in the bladder. It is then sectioned, and the sections are brought into the bladder through the incisions, where they are broken up into passable bits (the bits are passed through the catheter.)

This is becoming the new "gold standared" treatment, replacing the TURP procedure in many advanced urological centers. Side effects are minimal, and, according to one study[2], sexual function (ability to gain and maintain an erection) may actually increase, depending on the nature of prior dysfunction, if any.

WHERE TO GO?

One consideration is going overseas for treatment. HoLEP is available in at least one group of urolotical hospitals located in India, using exactly the same procedures and equipment as in major US facilities. Costs overseas can be significantly less than that in the US.

Interested in becoming more happy and successful? Cancer Survivors have obviously been through one of the hardest tests life can throw us and this article has some surprising information from them that you can use to move your life ahead today.

According to a USA TODAY/Kaiser Foundation/Harvard study, 63 percent of cancer survivors say the disease changed their lives in some positive way. Some of the positive changes listed were such things as a renewed sense of confidence, a greater appreciation for their own endurance, a questioning of their priorities and an increase in their coping abilities.

As a motivational expert specializing in fast results, I think there are valuable lessons for all of us to learn from the terrible ordeal cancer survivors have gone though and how they changed.

The first lesson we can learn from this is to appreciate each day that is given us and live each day to the fullest, since none of know what tomorrow may bring.

Another lesson we can learn is that avoiding adversity is not always the best strategy in terms of our self development. Many times we only grow by going through the sometimes painful process of trying new things, and facing new challenges. Many times these things show us we can do things we thought we couldn’t do, or give us new knowledge and skills that take us to a new level in life. The same can be said for coping skills. The more we successfully cope with, the more we know we can handle and therefore we have lower levels of anxiety and stress, as we know we can handle things.

Going through adversity also increases our self-confidence and our happiness with what we have. If you can look back on a struggle to get what you have, such as an educational achievement, or mastering a skill, that new skill means more to us and we have a sense of pride in what we did and a belief we can tackle more in our lives. Also we enjoy what we obtained through adversity more than something we have that seemed easily obtained. Some people, who are gifted in an area, do not enjoy their achievements in that area, because it seems so easy to them. It is said that Marlon Brando looked down on acting and actors, even though he was a gifted actor himself, because it came easy to him.

So begin to gradually increase the amount of adversity you have in your daily life, but focus that increased adversity in areas that match your goals in life. For instance if you seek higher income, gradually increase the training and work you put in on the steps needed to produce more income. As you reach one goal, keep the pressure and momentum going and move on to one or more new goals, but don’t forget to acknowledge your progress and give yourself a small reward at each success.

Business and Life Coach Theresa Smith stresses that we need balance in our lives if we want to reduce stress and enjoy our lives. The sorting out of priorities the cancer survivors did, probably result in a change in the balance they had in their lives between work, family, relationships and so on. Make sure you do the same.

So take the lessons cancer survivors have shared with us and put them into use today. You will move towards having increased self-confidence, happiness and begin to move your life to a new level.

Battling cancer on its own is an extremely trying event in anyones life and the lives of their families. If you had already owned a term life insurance policy before you developed cancer, you might have had the opportunity to use the accelerated death benefit to help offset the cost of your cancer treatments as well as other medical bills.

However, now that you have been given a clean bill of health as a cancer survivor, perhaps your term life insurance company chose not to renew your policy or decided to drastically raise your term life insurance premiums. All of a sudden it is a struggle to find affordable coverage since you are now considered an impaired risk. Impaired risks are not only people with pre-existing medical conditions or chronic health problems such as diabetes or high blood pressure, but also those who develop cancer, those addicted to drugs or alcohol and even those who have been convicted of a felony. Those who are considered impaired risks often are not able to obtain coverage. If an insurance company is willing to underwrite a policy for those with impaired risks, the premiums are much more expensive than a basic policy.

In recent years, however, insurance companies have begun to find ways to work with people that have health problems, or impaired risks even cancer survivors. It is important to seek out term life insurance companies who specialize in impaired risk coverage rather than generalists. Getting cancer survivor or impaired risk insurance has never been easier or more affordable.

How to Obtain Your Coverage

There is good news about term life insurance companies who specialize in cancer survivor and impaired risk term life insurance: they do not operate with a generalized health check list or have blanket requirements to obtain a policy. Each case is evaluated individually. So, as a cancer survivor you would be subject to a thorough health evaluation. You may even be required to submit medical forms signed by your physician stating your current health status. If you are in remission and otherwise lead a healthy lifestyle, basic coverage should no longer be a problem.

Additionally, up-to-date insurance companies now employ a method called clinical medical underwriting. Whereas prior to this new system, insurance companies would use a standard mortality table based on 30 year old data, this process takes into consideration all the current medical advances and lifestyle choices that allow people with medical/disability problems to live long and productive lives. Insurance companies now base their cancer survivor impaired risk term life insurance policy rates on being more informed on individual cases. This means that you will hopefully be able to obtain the best coverage for the least amount of money.

If for some reason you are unable to obtain a term life insurance policy for impaired risk, do not worry. You are always eligible for a guaranteed issue policy. This type of coverage is expensive but they do not require a medical exam and there are no health questions on the application.

Ovarian Cancer

Every year, 6,800 new cases of ovarian cancer are discovered in the UK, and there are about 4,650 deaths per year caused by the ovarian cancer. About 50 percent of ovarian cancer patients are already at an advanced stage by the time a correct diagnosis is made. She said I had had Stage IIIc ovarian cancer and she did not know if there was lymph node involvement.

Women who have a prior history of breast cancer will also have an increased risk of developing ovarian cancer at some time in their life. It is also said to be that women is at high risk in her advanced age.

Some other factors are: A family history of osteoporosis. Abnormal absence of menstrual periods (amenorrhea). Anorexia nervosa. Vitamin D deficiency. Use of certain medications (corticosteroids, chemotherapy, anticonvulsants and others).

The statistics for osteoporosis related fractures is downright scary - according to the NOF, A woman's risk of hip fracture is equal to her combined risk of breast, uterine and ovarian cancer. One study linked dairy products to an increased risk of ovarian cancer.

It has been observed that the majority of women with epithelial ovarian cancer are not diagnosed early enough. Note that radiation is rarely used in ovarian cancer treatment. In most instances, different kinds of anticancer drugs are prescribed in combination in order to speed up ovarian cancer treatment.

The surgical procedure to remove the bladder is known as a cystectomy and is usually performed as a result of cancer of the bladder. You can also have radiation and chemotherapy treatment which is used to treat bladder cancer. If the cancer is in the muscle of the bladder then surgery is performed to remove it.

Cystectomy is considered a very aggressive treatment option and may not be the best option for everyone. Those who have superficial tumors may respond better to a more conservative treatment. A cystectomy is considered a major surgical procedure and the patient is put under general anesthesia. There is a small incision made on the lower abdomen.

The ureters are found, tied, and cut. The ureters connect the bladder to the kidneys, so cutting them frees the bladder for the removal process. The bladder as well as other associated organs are then removed. In male patients the prostate is removed along with the bladder. In women patients the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, and part of the vagina are also removed with the bladder removal process.

The bladder of a healthy person collects urine from the kidneys for excretion at a later time. When the bladder has been removed the doctors must come up with a new method to remove urine from the body. In many cases a small portion of the small intestine is removed, cleaned, and tied at one end to become the form of a tube. After this the other end is then used to form a stoma, which is an opening through the abdominal wall to outside the body. The patient is required to wear a bag to collect the urine.

Before the procedure is performed a member of the medical staff will discuss the entire procedure and can tell the patient where the stoma will be on their body and what it will look like. The patient will also get all the information they need on how to care for a stoma and bag. Counseling may be discussed and there may be a period of fasting required as well as an enema.

After going through a successful operation the patient will be given fluid based nutritional drinks until the intestines begin to function normally. You are also given antibiotics to prevent infection of the incision area. When a person's organs are removed it means that there will be major lifestyle changes after the procedure.

After this procedure women are infertile as a result of the ovaries and uterus being removed, but it is more common for women to have a cystectomy are postmenopausal and are far past their child baring days. Men are impotent because the nerves that control penis erection are cut during the removal process of the bladder.

The patient must be fitted with an external bad that connects to the stoma and is used to collect urine. These bags are usually worn around the waist and are easily hidden under clothes. It may take a while to get used to wearing a bag but since there isn't a bladder urine is excreted when it is produced, which is continuously.

New research in the August Issue of Physics Today explains how low-intensity electric fields can disrupt the division of cancer cells and slow the growth of brain tumors. The team of researchers used alternating electric fields that shift electric particles in cells back and forth hundreds of thousands of times per second. These low-intensity alternating electric fields were once thought to only heat cells but after several years of experiments, the researchers have shown the fields to disrupt cell division in tumor cells placed on a glass dish.

After studying the effect of electricity in vitro and in labratory animals, the researchers began a small human clinical trial. The technique was applied to ten patients with glioblastoma multiforme, a type of brain cancer with a low survival rate. The researchers fitted the patients with electrodes that applied 200 kHz electric fields to the scalp at regular intervals for up to 18 hours a day. The cancer was observed to be progressing to advanced stages at a much slower rate (a median of 26 weeks) and in some cases even regressed. Typical time for tumor progression is 10 weeks and 3 of the 10 patients were still alive two years after the electrode therapy started.

Electric field therapy is found to have two effects on tumor cells. First, it slows down cell division by disrupting the formation and function of a key cell structure known as the mitotic spindle. Second, the electric field can sometimes cause the daughter cells to self destruct by forcing structures and molecules away from its infrastructure before the cell splits away from its partner . Electrode therapy poses little danger to normal brain tissue, because healthy brain cells do not divide. Researchers are now investigating the possibilities of combining electric fields with low-dose chemotherapy.

All tissues have linings around them to keep the different cell types (those of the tissue and those outside the tissue) separate. In instances where angiogenesis has occured, the tumor cells may break through these linings which act as boundaries limiting normal growth. This is termed tumor invasion.

An invasive tumor breaks through the membrane, or the lining of the tissue. Several events must occur in order for a tumor to become invasive. First, a tumor cell must actually break away from the rest of the tissue mass. It will then need to move toward the lining of the tissue. The cell moves by extending little blebs or “fingers” that allow it to crawl along in a specific direction - similar to the way a snail moves.

Once at the membrane, the tumor cell will have to release several particular enzymes, all acting to dissolve the membrane lining away. If this can be achieved, the tumor cell will move into the new space on the other side of the membrane. It will have broken the normal limits of cell growth in the tissue.

The invasion by the tumor will allow it to spread to another tissue type or possibly a capillary. Capillaries may lead to a blood vessel, which would grant the tumor cell access to the blood stream. If this happens, metastasis, or tumor spreading may occur.

Metastasis is the most serious stage of cancer. Tumor metastasis occurs when a few tumor cells have separated from the tumor mass and have “seeded” themselves at one or more new regions in the body. Once in this new area, they will multiply and eventually crowd out the normal cells. At some point, nearby tissues and organs may become so crowded they will not be capable of performing the functions necessary to maintain life.

Metastasis occurs when tumor cells move away and seed themselves in tissues that are distant from the original tumor. Most often, the tumor metastasizes to the lymph nodes nearest the tumor. The tumor cells travel to a new area by moving through the blood stream or the lymph stream of the immune system. The cells move through the blood or lymph stream until they reach a capillary wall. They make their way through it by dissolving the wall (or membrane) and moving through the space into the new tissue. In this manner, the tumor will “seed” itself to a new area.

Fortunately, the few tumor cells that do make their way into the bloodstream do not survive for very long in the blood. Less than 0.1% actually survive the journey to metastasize.

Oddly enough, most cases of metastasis are to only a few different tissues. Usually, the metastasis occurs to a patient’s lung or their lymph nodes. Researchers believe that certain chemicals may be released by these organs that somehow attract tumor cells. This is a currently an important area of study because many more patients could be treated successfully if metastasis could be stopped.

It has been estimated that about 50% of all cancer patients may have metastasis by the time they are finally diagnosed and treated. The chances of successfully treating metastatic disease with current therapies is less than the chance of successfully treating pre-metastatic disease. However, there are many instances where patients with even extremely severe cases of metastatic cancer are cured. With the numerous new discoveries, the chances of curing metastatic disease will only climb in the future.

When the alarm rings she slowly gets out of bed, turns on the shower and under the steady stream of warm water, she gently scrubs her body with Ammonia, Formaldehyde and Phenol.

Next, she shampoos her tinted hair with DEA and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate.

Rinsing out the shampoo, she applies a good amount of mutagenic DEA & Propylene Glycol and lets it penetrate while she pops the top on the shaving cream and shaves her legs with A-Pinene.

The shower finished, she towel dries and spreads on an even coat of Contaminant Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PHAs) and a dusting of an Asbestos Substance over her skin.

She sprays the scented Aluminum under her arms, brushes her teeth with FD&C Blue#1, Resorcinol, Saccharin, and Fluoride; with a trace of TriSodium Phosphate.

Then she rinses and gargles with Ethanol and Phenol Alcohol.

She combs setting gel through her hair then blows it dry and sprays it with polyvinylpyrrolidine(PVP).

Sitting at her vanity, she carefully applies a thin film of Phenol Carbolic Acid, Dioxin and Propylene Glycol, over her face to reduce the fine lines.

Today, she'll wear foundation and a little FD&C Red #3. And, better add some eye-Iron Oxide, for today she is attending a special meeting.

Oh, and add a little toxic and mutagenic Ascorbyl Palmitate to line her lids, and a stroke of
bacteria & Polyvinylpyrrolide (PVP) to her lashes.

A dab of Benzo-A-Pyrene and Benzo-B-Fluroanthene to color her lips. A spritz of her favorite scent,
Toluene and Benzaldehyde, and a little carcinogenic nitrosamine, NMPABAO on her face, arms and legs to block the suns rays.

Now, she is set for the day. She looks radiant... "breath-taking" beauty we call it... because her looks are literally KILLING HER!

Do These Ingredients listed above absorb through the skin? Well, if you're wondering if the chemicals mentioned above can absorb through skin, try this experiment... Get a clove of garlic. Cut it open and rub it on the bottom of your foot. See how long it takes for you to taste it in your mouth...

Take note that the skin is not a barrier that keeps chemicals and ingredients out. The skin absorbs
almost everything applied to it. [i.e. That is why nicotine patches and diet patches that are adhered
to the skin surface work.]

So What's The Cause For Alarm? What has the woman in the above scenario exposed herself to, in a matter of just minutes? What is really being put on and in the body by millions of unsuspecting people, every day?

Let's find out... Let's start with the innocent bar of soap...

* Bar Soap has a pH of 9, which removes the protective acid mantle of the skin making it more
alkaline and therefore, more vulnerable to penetration.

Bar Soap also contains Ammonia, Formaldehyde and Phenol, known carcinogens [cancer-causing agents], and Triclocarbans.

* Shampoo contains Cocamide DEA, which is associated with carcinogenic [cancer-causing] Nitrosamines and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, a known mutagen.

* Hair Tint contains Quaternium-15, which releases carcinogenic Formaldehyde and the carcinogen, Phenylenediamine.

* Conditioner contains DEA & Propylene Glycol both known mutagenic carcinogens.

* Shaving Cream contains a-Pinene, a chemical that damages the immune system.

*Body Lotion contains Mineral Oil, which, as a cosmetic grade Petroleum product, includes the contaminant Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PHAs) known as xenoestrogens that can mimic estrogen in the body.

*Dusting Powder contains Talc, a substance like Asbestos. When talc was combined with a common air pollutant, Benzo(a)pyrene, it induced tumors in 80% of the animals tested.

Many scientists believe Talc should be placed on the "known carcinogens" list.

*Deodorant has Aluminum, which is being tested in connection to Alzheimers.

*Toothpaste contains Saccharin and FD&C Blue#1, which are carcinogens.

It also contains Resorcinol, which can cause a blood disorder (methemoglobinemia), convulsions and death.

Fluoride is also a known carcinogen.

*TriSodium Phosphate, also found in some toothpastes, is a chemical primer that strips grease and dirt off walls and surfaces. It is so caustic that it warns the user to wear gloves at all times and to avoid any skin contact.

*Mouthwash contains 27% Ethanol, which is suspected of causing esophageal cancer.

It also contains Phenol, which can cause fatal poisonings through skin absorption.

*Hair Spray contains Polyvinylpyrrolidine (PVP) and reports show that it may cause harm if the particles are inhaled. Modest intravenous doses fed to rats caused tumors.

*Skin Moisturizer contains Phenol Carbolic Acid, which can cause circulatory collapse, paralysis, convulsions, coma and death as a result of respiratory failure.

It also contains PEG-40, which contains dangerous levels of dioxin. And Propylene Glycol, which studies show can negatively alter brain waves and cause liver and kidney disorders.

*Blush contains FD&C Red #3, which caused human breast cells to grow, mimics the effect of natural estrogen at the molecular level and damages the genetic material of human breast cells.

*Eye shadow contains Iron Oxide, which is a suspected carcinogen, teratogen or toxin.

*Eyeliner, contains Ascorbyl Palmitate, and studies suggest that the Palmitates are to be considered carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic.

*Mascara may be contaminated with bacteria. It also contains Polyvinylpyrrolide (PVP), a carcinogen.

*Lipstick contains Paraffin, which is a mixture of Hydrocarbons and is derived from Petroleum. It is known to be contaminated with the carcinogens, Benzo-a-pyrene and Benzo-b-fluroanthene.

*Perfume contains Toluene, a suspected potent carcinogen that has been found in almost every fragrance tested, and Benzaldehyde, which is a central nervous system depressant that may cause kidney damage.

*Sunscreen contains Padimate O and the preservative, BNPD, which together create the carcinogenic nitrosamine, NMPABAO.

Did You Know...

According to recent DAILY USE estimates, 3 personal care products are used on infants and children daily.

Men use 10 personal care products daily.

Women use 6 cosmetics and 13 personal care products daily. Some products are used several times daily.

Assuming mainstream industry products each contain only 2 carcinogens, [cancer-causing agents], this results in daily exposures to 6 different AVOIDABLE
carcinogens for infants and children, 20 for men, and 38 for women DAILY.

And while ingredients are listed on product labels, there are NO warnings as to the CANCER risks from any of these ingredients.

It is UNTHINKABLE that women would knowingly continue to inflict such exposures on their infants, children; let alone on themselves, if products routinely used, were visibly labeled with explicit warnings of cancer risks.

So are you asking yourself... "why this has not yet been enforced by laws, that should be protecting bodycare product purchasing consumers?

Information about cancer treatment balding.

Hair loss during chemotherapy can be very embarrassing to many people and affect their self confidence. Considering the life and death aspects of chemotherapy as a cancer treatment, losing some of your hair rationally should be a minor issue. However, we don't always think very logically, and the psychological effects can be devastating as the hair loss brings home the disease inside to a very real outside manifestation of illness.

One of the worst and frequently reported side effects of chemotherapy is that it induces loss of hair, which is emotionally very upsetting both for men and women. However, in such cases the loss of hair and the degree of hair loss largely depends on type of medicines, quantity of dosages taken per day and period of medical treatment

Generally, the reasoning behind its occurrence is same as the reason why chemotherapy works for the treatment of cancer. Both cancer cells and type cells involved in hair growth are attacked rapidly by the drugs. The hair loss, in most cases, is temporary and it grows back on the completion of chemotherapy. It takes about one to two months for your hair to grow back after the end of chemotherapy. The initial color and texture of your hair may be different than before.

There is no certain way to avoid hair loss in chemotherapy, but there are a variety of methods which have shown some promise in dealing with the situation. Minoxidil (Rogaine being the best known brand) doesn't stop hair loss but there is some indication it might slow the loss and re-growth may happen faster. Another rather radical method is the application of ice packs to the scalp to during chemotherapy to slow the blood flow and attempt to minimize the damage to this area. There is some indication that this works to some extent in many people but it is reportedly uncomfortable and may have some increased risk of cancer in that area due to the same reason it reduces the chemotherapy hair loss.

You can lessen the visual impact of hair loss during chemotherapy treatments on your life by thinking ahead. Before beginning treatments, you should not do anything that could cause damage to your hair, such as coloring, bleaching or any other chemical process. Try to think ahead and decide if you are going to want to wear a wig during your treatments, or if you are simply going to cut your hair short or if you want to go ahead and shave your hair prior to treatment.

Women today are more concerned than ever about preventing breast cancer. There is much speculation about how our lifestyle and habits affect our chances of contracting this and other cancers. Well, there are many risk factors that can make you more prone to breast cancer, but there are also things you can do to prevent breast cancer.

First, it’s important to have a healthy diet. Avoiding processed foods and eating a diet that is low in saturated fats and high in fruits, vegetables and fish. These foods can keep your weight in check and protect your health by providing vitamins and fiber.

In addition to these foods being healthy and fiber rich, they also provide significant anti-oxidants. Anti-oxidants are extremely important to slowing down the aging process and preventing disease.

Each day as our body converts food to energy, it creates oxygen carrying molecules called free radicals. If free radicals are not eliminated from the body, they damage our cells and our DNA. This cell damage is partially responsible for a multitude of diseases, including cancer.

Anti-oxidants are important because they rid the body of free radicals. Since free radicals are created daily, they should be eliminated daily, too. But, because our diets have become so laden with processed food, many of us don’t consume enough anti-oxidants each day.

So, protecting our health means we have to make changes in our lifestyle. Watching what we eat and drink can put us in the best position to combat aging as it creeps up on us.

While you’re taking stock of what’s in your pantry, don’t forget to include looking at what you drink. You need a good dose of anti-oxidants each day, and many of us just don’t consume enough fruits and vegetables to get our daily requirement.

Well, it turns out that drinking tea and coffee can be a great way to increase your anti-oxidants and improve your health- particularly your resistance to breast cancer. There have been many studies that have reported the benefits of green tea, but one recent study suggested that there may be benefits to drinking black tea and coffee, too.

The study I’m referring to was conducted at the Gifu School of Medicine in Japan. The study was conducted on pre-menopausal women. This study looked at the hormone level of 50 Japanese women during different days of their menstrual cycle. They found that in women who consumed tea, coffee and even caffeinated cola had a higher level of the sex hormone binding globulin on critical days of their cycle than the women who did not consume these beverages.

Why Is This Important?

The level of binding globulin is important because low levels of this hormone in pre-menopausal women have been associated with a higher risk of developing breast cancer. So, it appears that drinking your daily intake of caffeine may help your body produce a higher level of binding globulin and help protect you from breast cancer.

Which of These Beverages Should I Drink?

In this particular study, researchers found no difference in the binding globulin level between those who drank coffee, tea or even cola. It seemed to be the consumption of caffeinated beverages of any kind that caused the level of binding globulin to rise.

However, many other studies have shown that in addition to having caffeine, green tea has many other health protecting qualities, as well. Remember how important we just said that anti-oxidants are to our diet?

Well, it just so happens that green tea has an extraordinary level of very potent anti-oxidants. Black tea and coffee have anti-oxidants, too; but nothing to compare to the level and potency you’ll find in green tea. (Cola, by the way, does not contain anti-oxidants.)

Though green and black tea both come from the camellia sinensis plant, green tea is healthier because of the way it’s processed. Black tea is fermented, which changes the structure of the anti-oxidants, making them less effective and potent. Green tea is not fermented (nor is white), so it retains anti-oxidants in their most natural and potent state.

And, for those of you who might be sensitive to caffeine; you’ll be happy to know that green tea has less caffeine than coffee or black tea. But, clearly it has enough caffeine to increase your level of binding globulin sufficiently. Remember, the study cited above showed no difference between green tea drinkers and other caffeinated beverage drinkers in terms of the level of binding globulin.

Making Changes You Can Continue

So, if you’re interested in reducing your breast cancer risk, you need to make some changes to your lifestyle to help protect your health. Watch your diet; be sure you’re getting the recommended amount of fresh fruits and vegetables each day.

You should also be sure to add some sort of caffeinated beverage to your diet, if you’re not already drinking some. And, to boost both your anti-oxidants and get your caffeine at the same time, make that beverage green tea.

Make lifestyle changes that you can commit to- otherwise you’ll be unlikely to keep up with them. It might not be realistic for you to say that you’re going to immediately increase your intake of vegetables from none each day to five servings. But, if you can consistently eat two servings each day, then you’ve still made an improvement. And, perhaps later you can work up to five servings.

Small changes over time are the best way to ensure that you’ll continue your new healthy habits. Reduce your number of processed foods and increase your intake of fruits, vegetables and green tea slowly over time. This way, you won’t feel overwhelmed and be tempted to quit.

Smoking can also increase your risk for cancer. We all know that smoking makes us likely candidates for lung cancer, but what many people don’t know is that smoking increases your overall risk for cancer. Smoke is toxic to your body, and can increase your risk of any cancer, including breast cancer.

Breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the US. This year, over 200,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and over 40,000 will die from it.** It pays to understand how to protect your health and reduce your risk of contracting this disease.

There are all kinds of diets and food plans out there. Ask just about any women and she’ll tell you to name a diet and she’ll have been on it. There’s a grape diet, a cabbage soup diet, which is fun for all concerned and an eat anything you like but stop at 4pm diet. We’re all heard of the Atkins diet and we’ve probably all heard of the low GI diet, both are quite popular at the moment. There is, however, one diet that no one should ever like to be on and that is the eating for cancer diet. The obvious prerequisite is that you should have cancer of some kind and be about to undergo treatment.

The right kind of food and proper nutrition can help a cancer patient feel better, stay stronger and even cope with the side effects of treatment. It is best to seek the advice of a registered dietician before undergoing treatment for cancer but below are a few handy tips for you to consider.

Before treatment (http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/eatinghints) patients need to build up a stock of bodily reserves so they need a diet high in calories and high in proteins such as milk, cream, cheese, eggs, sauces, gravies and to have their food cooked in more butter, oil or margarine. They may need to eat less fibre as this might aggravate upset stomachs or sore mouths. This is the time to treat the patient. Food is pleasure and should be treated as such. Make meal times as fun as possible, if there are children present include them in the preparation of the meal. Prepare everyone’s favourite meal once a week; include at least one of the patient’s favourite dishes in each meal. Think positively and keep an optimistic attitude, this increases the appetite, at the very least it will stop the appetite from decreasing.

Even though it has been said that you must eat food high in calories and fry the hell out of it, it must now also be added that you need to try to eat as healthily as possibly. It seems very contradictory but if you include your daily 5 portions of fruit and veg and get all your fats your should be doing ok. This will help build up your reserves to prevent body tissue from breaking down during treatment and to maintain your defenses against infection.

During treatment you may find that your tastes change, do not be afraid to try new types food or of cooking food in new ways with new spices and seasonings. Do whatever it takes to keep your food intake up. You may find that your appetite is better during certain times of the day and not at others, use this knowledge wisely and eat bigger meals when your appetite is at its largest. When you feel that you can’t eat try meal replacement drinks. It is also a good idea to try and eat several small meals throughout the day rather than 3 solid meals.

For nausea try and eat toast, crackers or pretzels; yoghurt, cream of wheat, oatmeal; rice, boiled potatoes, noodles; skinned chicken baked or broiled. For an upset stomach sodium and potassium is very important try and eat bananas, potatoes and drink sports drinks also; yoghurt, cottage cheese; rice, noodles, potatoes; eggs – well cooked; smooth peanut butter; white bread, skinned chicken.

After treatment it is important to stay healthy, ease off the high calorie and high fat foods, lower your protein intake and gradually increase your fibre. A healthy diet will increase the speed at which you recover from your treatment and it will help to ensure that the cancer does not return.

The top 5 healthiest foods according to http://www.healthcastle.com are:

1) Salmon – high in protein and omega 3 fatty acids, the good cholesterol.

2) Soy – High in protein, amino acids, calcium, iron, zinc, phosphorus, magnesium, B vitamins, omega and fibre

3) Greens – Vitamins A & C, iron, calcium and phytonutrients, fibre

4) Berries – Vitamin C, fibre, phytonutrients, rich in antioxidants

5) Whole grains – antioxidants, B vitamins, vitamin E, magnesium, iron

Diet plays a very important role in cancer treatment and healthiest foods. Its role is both physical and psychological. When you eat well you feel well. When you don’t eat and when you feel nauseas all the time, you feel like you are sick and like all the hope is being sucked out of your world. So do like the title says and eat for a brighter tomorrow.

Considering that 1 in 250 men will be diagnosed with testicular cancer at one point or another, knowing which testicular cancer symptoms to look for can be a life saving bit of knowledge. When you think about it, the statistics are staggering. Not only is testicular cancer fairly common, but it can affect any age group. While you're most likely to be diagnosed with testicular cancer while you're in the 15 to 40 age bracket, everyone from infants to the elderly are at risk. On the bright side, testicular cancer is one of the less deadly forms of the ailment. The mortality rate for testicular cancer as a whole is only around 10 percent, and when it is caught in the earliest stage that number drops to approximately 5 percent.

Still, many people have died from it and it doesn't matter how healthy you are. Take, for instance, Lance Armstrong. The man was a living legend and had won the Tour De France several times when he was diagnosed at the peak of his career. While he ended up living through it, testicular cancer was almost the end of this American Hero. As a result, a huge movement started with people buying and wearing yellow rubber LiveStrong wrist bands. Aimed at raising awareness, the little yellow bands did their job. All that, and many people still don't know many of the testicular cancer symptoms.

If you're unfamiliar with testicular cancer symptoms, please hop online and look them up. There are several of them, many of which are relatively obvious. Others, however, might not send up as many red flags. For example, did you know that dull pain in your lower abdomen is a symptom of testicular cancer? I certainly didn't, until I did my homework. I suggest you do some of your own, it could just save your life one day.

Devil Facial Tumour Disease (referred to as DFTD) is the name given to a fatal condition that is afflicting a significant portion of the native population of Tasmanian devils. The condition first becomes noticed as small lesions or lumps around the mouth that develops into large tumours predominantly around the face and neck, but sometimes in other parts of the body as well.

DFTD was first reported in the mid 1990’s and has now been confirmed in most areas throughout Tasmania except for north-west and west coast devil populations. It is having a major impact in areas with high-density populations, and is predominantly affecting the adult populations. The disease does not usually become apparent in devils until they are at least two years old. The cancers affect the capability of the devil to ingest food thereby weakening the animal and making it more difficult for it to compete with other animals for food. Evidence suggests that animals appear to die within three to five months of the lesions first appearing, from starvation and the breakdown of body functions.

There are three well-known types of malignant skin tumours. In all of them the ultraviolet rays from the sun plays a significant etiological role. The most common one is basal cell carcinoma or basaloma, which does not metastasize and is the more benign of the three types. Sometimes it grows very aggressively with a great tendency for recurrence, and destroys underlying tissue, bone, cartilage etc., with pronounced cosmetic and functional defects as a consequence.

A facial tumour disease is continuing to ravage Tasmania's wild devils, with almost half of the devil population believed lost to the disease. Fears the disease is spreading have been realised, with 3 new cases discovered in the south of the state.

Malignant melanoma is the type of tumour presently increasing the most in incidence. It spreads both through lymphatic pathways and hematogenously, and in the long term has a bad prognosis, especially if the tumour is not discovered until it has grown deep into the skin. It is usually pigmented by the melanin in the melanocytes. This may not always be the case, as so-called amelanotic , i e not blue or brown colored, melanomas exist.

The disease has now spread across 65 per cent of the state, with 3 new cases discovered in southern Tasmania. The disease is across the eastern part of the state and extends as far west as the Cradle Valley, and also down into the south of the state. To date we haven't recorded the disease on the west coast or in the far north-west, so it's in the eastern parts of the state that the disease is having the greatest impact.

More and more people are surviving cancer than ever before. cancer is no longer the death sentence it once was. Cancer treatments in the past were sometimes drastic and devastating. Surgery that used to involve a large incision can now be accomplished through a small incision using a surgical probe that allows surgeons to see and remove cancerous tissue without the trauma of major surgery.

Radiation therapy has advanced as well. More sophisticated equipment and technology does less damage to the surrounding tissues. New discoveries and developments have brought about new and more effective medicines with less side effects. This and other advancements have been brought about by ongoing cancer research.

Cancer Research UK is one research organization based in the United Kingdom. It is one of the few independent organizations devoted to cancer research in the world. One of the goals of this organization and others like it is to gain a better understanding of the various types of cancer. By doing so they can then develop better medicines and treatments to fight cancer.

Only through a better understanding of cancer can advancements in these areas be made.Research is the step by step process that is done by collecting and examining data on cancer. It almost always involves a quest for new information that can help to develop a new drug or treatment or hopefully some day an actual cure for cancer.

Research can involve the study of its basic biology to the effects of treatments. Another area of research involves the testing of drugs that have already been developed. Before a drug is made available to the public it must undergo years of testing to make sure it is safe and effective. Right now there are drugs undergoing testing that in years to come will be available for use but researchers must first determine their overall effect on the cancer patients who use them.

Most people don't realize just how many different types of cancer there are, each with its different problems in treating it. So there has to be many different areas of research to develop treatments for them. Cancer Research UK supports over three-thousand researchers and the work they are doing.

The one true key to successful cancer research is money. One ongoing job for nonprofit cancer research organizations is raising the funds to support the work they are doing. Anyone can help cancer research by making a donation to any of the nonprofit cancer research centers. In this way you can do your part to help find better treatments and hopefully some day a cure for the disease.Another way to help is to take part in a clinical trial of a new drug or treatment.

Another area of cancer research is focused on the relieving of the symptoms of the cancer. Until a cure is found people with cancer have to endure the symptoms of the disease. The first one that come so mind is pain but there are many others such as dietary and nutritional special problems cancer patients face.

Learning how to better keep cancer patients pain free, happy and healthy is another area of ongoing cancer research. There too many areas of cancer research to cover here but we have covered a few. Only through cancer research can progress be made in understanding its causes, how to prevent it and eventually a cure.

Most people think that once the cancer has been treated and chemotherapy and surgery are no longer needed, the ordeal has come to an end. But, this is far from true. Cancer is a life-changing disease and returning to a normal life after treatment is very difficult. As a cancer survivor, you are probably exhausted, afraid, depressed, have trouble sleeping or performing the simplest tasks. The key to healing is gradually regaining control of your life, step by step. Try focusing on the fact that you emerged victorious in the battle against cancer. And if you can do that, you can do ANYTHING.

Tackle each day at a time. Make a conscious effort to appreciate the little things. Indulge in a hobby that will occupy your mind like gardening, listening to music, learning pottery or art or how to play a musical instrument, writing poetry, cooking. Make exercise a part of your daily routine. If strength permits, walk, jog, swim, go hiking, ride a bike, or just fool around with the kids. If possible, join a volunteer program at one of the NGOs in your city. Helping those less fortunate than yourself will give your life a sense of purpose.

Join a cancer support group. A support group is normally led by a doctor, counselor, psychiatrist, or social institution. Being a part of a group can be comforting and give you hope because its members know and understand what you have been through. You can talk about your fears, listen to survival stories, and get tips on how to deal with your life after cancer. Ask your doctor or hospital about a support group in your area. There are also many online support groups with cancer survivors from around the world. If you prefer a more individual approach, you could see a counsellor or a therapist to help you cope with your feelings. Most importantly look for support in your friends and family. Talk to them and let them know your fears, what your are going through and what should they do. Many times families are confused about what they should do. A strong support group can help you steer through your cancer aftermath and emerge a winner – which you really are, you have survived cancer!

It’s tough getting back on your feet again. Give yourself time and space to heal and remember that the worst is behind you.

Good health is not a struggle, nor it is an extraordinary feat. Healthy living is about understanding what your body needs and what is good for it. If you want the results of being healthy to live Cancer Free For Life, you need to find the causes of health and follow them. You need to understand the reasons why you get sick and avoid those. Of course, this approach is in direct conflict with the more conventional philosophy of medicine that believes disease is a matter of bad luck, where people have "risks" of disease that only occur by chance.

Conventional medicine wants you to think that disease happens to you purely by chance and that you have no control over it. “It’s just bad luck. There’s a flu epidemic.” But the reality is that disease (or a lack thereof) is entirely under your control. If you wish to be healthy and to remain Cancer Free For Life, there are certain things you can do that reliably and consistently produce a healthy outcome. And if you wish to be diseased, there are other things you can do to reliably and consistently produce disease. Researchers have found that there is a cancer personality and that there are personality traits of people who have cancer, and that there are traits unique to people who are super healthy, and have remained Cancer Free For Life. These are described in great detail in the second chapter of the book Cancer Free For Life, and there are clear steps and explanations for you to determine what personality you have, and how to change it. This book is available on http://cancer-free-for-life.com. Visit us there.

It fascinates me that some people are more prone to cancer while others can remain Cancer Free For Life, even if they have cancer in their family for instance. Out of all of the research I’ve conducted in the past few years, the most astounding thing I've discovered is not one particular herb or nutritional supplement, but rather that the best and most powerful healing strategies, or what I call health habits, are available to you free of charge.

Some people drink grape juice or swallow massive doses of vitamin C; others pray, take herbal remedies, or simply cheer themselves on. These very diverse patients all have one thing in common, though. At a certain point in their disease, they suddenly knew, with complete certainty, that they were going to get better, as if the disease were simply a mirage, and they suddenly passed beyond it into a space where fear and despair and all sickness were nonexistent.

The entered the place called perfect health and spontaneous remission. The found a place where they could be Cancer Free For Life. Was it spontaneous? Did it just happen?

I have spent these past years looking for what causes disease, and to find the healing mechanisms in the body. I have found that it is the same way that thousands of documented cases of people who recover from cancer, leukemia, arthritis and many other diseases use to put their disease ‘in remission’ and beat all the doctors’ prognostis. I become fascinated with the healing system that doesn’t appear in any medical books. I discovered there is a way to remain Cancer Free For Life.

Less than a third of old people show no sign of cancer, heart disease, arthritis, diabetes, osteoporosis, and other generative disorders endemic to old age. Who heals the sick person anyway? And why are we not allowed to use the word “Cure”? Are people with extraordinary health super-humans, or do they have abilities we can all share and learn from? Imagine if we were taught simple disease prevention habits and strategies that cost absolutely nothing, are easy to obtain, and work to improve the health of everyone, regardless of genetic makeup or background.

All in one book, I have combined the results of the ancient healing techniques that have been forgotten. I share with you the aspects of quantum physics that I have discovered make us healthy. And it’s not rocket science. I explain in clear terms how you can use them for your own life. This book is available for immediate downloading at www.cancer-free-for-life.com . And as you may have guessed from the title of this book, it's all about ways that you can apply right away to take care of your health.

I must tell you right away that there is no such things as "miracle" shortcuts to health. There is no such thing as a magic weight loss pill. There is no such thing as results without effort. Where you find yourself today is the result of years of abuse to your body. You need to start changing that by making changes to your life. Cancer has been or can be your wake up call. Your life WILL change. There are some strategies that are far smarter than others. There are strategies that have a big payoff, versus others that have a small payoff.

Cancer Free For Life focuses on those strategies and methods that are available to you with the least amount of effort. It's not about taking shortcuts; it's about being efficient.

Having a hysterectomy is major surgery and it does take time to recover after having one to avoid complications. This is why the hysterectomy recovery time period is so important. When you first wake up you will feel weak and tired. Your vital signs will be monitored regularly and you will need to begin sitting up on the second day. The more you move around the better as this helps to improve your circulation and helps to eliminate the possibilities of dangerous blood clots. After a few days you will begin to eat and drink more on your own and your strength should be building back up to normal.

Within ten days you should be improving and as soon as your doctor feels you are strong enough, you will be released from the hospital. However, the care does not stop here, it is important that you continue your recovery at home. Due to the anaesthetic you were given for the surgery it will be several weeks before you get all your strength back and it may be difficult for you to think and concentrate. You certainly will not be able to drive or do anything that requires lifting and straining. It will take some time before your abdominal muscles cure and get back to normal.

Anytime during your hysterectomy recovery time period you need to rest anytime that you begin to feel tired. Do not overdo it and push to hard. Have family members and friends help you with the things that need to be done at home. You can slowly begin to build up your strength by adding to your activities each day. You can start doing light exercises such as walking around. Begin with just a few minutes and add a little more each day. During your recovery time it is normal to experience some vaginal discharge and some women may experience some depression symptoms.

To make sure that everything is going as it should you will need to return back to your doctor for a six week check up. At this time he will tell you how well you are recovering. If things are going good then you can get a list of exercises that will help you to get your body back in shape. Just make sure that you don't overwork yourself and push to hard, this can cause a delay in your recovery time. Build up your exercise routine slowly and if you experience anything that does not feel right, then contact your health care provider.

Dont put your recovery on hold to clean the house. Hysterectomy recovery time is vital to your health. Learn more at http://www.hysterectomyresources.com/Hysterectomy-Recovery-Time.html

There are several ways of giving radiation dosage to a cancerous tumor. The most common method is to deliver the required dosage from an external beam of radiation produced outside the body. In this case the source of radiation beam is located 80-100 cm from the body of the person receiving radiation. Sometimes placing the source of radiation within the tumor might have advantages over delivering radiation from an external source. This method of delivering required radiation from an internal source embedded within the tumor is called brachytherapy.

If you are aware of the inverse square law in physics you would know the dosage of radiation therapy delivery changes by a great proportion depending upon the distance of the radiation source to the intended target. In brachytherapy the source of radiation is within the tumor volume and the proper placement of these sources of radiation within the tumor is of crucial importance.

There are several radioactive isotopes used in the brachytherapy. These include radium-226, cesium-137, cobalt-60, iridium192, iodine-125, gold-198 and palladium-103. Radium has a longer half-life compared to some of the other radioactive isotopes. In the past radium was the primary isotope used in brachytherapy, but recently radium has been largely replaced by cesium, gold and iridium, which have relatively shorter half-life and lower energies and because of this the radiation from these isotopes can be easily shielded.

Brachytherapy can be delivered with devices known as implants. These devices may be in the form of needles or seeds or ribbons. Brachytherapy can be delivered with permanent or temporary implants. These implants might be temporary or permanent. Temporary implants usually have a longer half-life and higher energies compared to the permanent implants. All temporary implants are inserted into the tumor during surgery. The duration of treatment for the temporary implant is usually 1-3 days.

Interstitial low-dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy is usually used for cancers involving the mouth and oral cavity, pharynx. This mode of treatment is often used in the treatment of sarcomas. Prostate cancer treatment is the most common form of LDR brachytherapy using seeds. Uterine cancer is the most common application of intracavitary LDR treatment. These patients are often isolated to prevent radiation exposure to nursing and other supportive staff during the care of the person.

The most common uses of high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy includes treatment of esophageal cancer, lung cancer and recently breast cancer and prostate cancer. Most HDR treatments are done as outpatient procedures allowing the patients to return to home the same day as treatment. Patients who are receiving treatment for prostate cancer is an exception who may remain in the hospital for 2-3 days during the treatment.

For well over half a century we have been promised by mainstream medicine that a cure or major breakthrough for cancer was just around the corner. Every year we see promising new drugs and therapies announced. Yet every year we also see more people contract cancer and more people die of cancer.

Instead of focusing on natural and safe methods of prevention and treatment, we continue to treat by using surgery, chemotherapy and radiation to cut out, poison out and burn out the symptoms of cancer while leaving the underlying causes untreated - and we continue to largely ignore the role that proper diet, nutrition and lifestyle plays in preventing and helping cure cancer.

Although surgery does have some success against a limited number of cancers, chemo and radiation achieve at best a 3% increase in length of survival and true cures from cancer (meaning that the patient becomes completely cancer free and the cancer never returns). The fact is that for those who are diagnosed with cancer, after the third year the survival rate for those who had no treatment at all increases steadily and for those who had mainstream treatment it decreases steadily.

Sources: Dr. Ralph Moss and Webster Kehr, the "Cancer Tutor"

Despite the dismal record, those in the $300 Billion a year cancer industry appear determined to maintain a stranglehold on treatment. One way they do so is to suppress natural alternatives. Another is to misreport their success rates by altering statistics to make their success appear to be much better than it actually is.

Here are six ways that mainstream medicine misreports their statistics:

1. By re-defining "cure" as "alive five years after diagnosis: instead of using the word's real meaning, which is "cancer-free". Thus a patient could still have cancer the entire five years and die one day after the 5th anniversary date of diagnosis and still be recorded as a cure.

2. By simply omitting certain groups of people, such as African Americans, or by omitting certain types of cancer, such as all lung cancers patients, from their statistical calculations.

3. By including types of cancer that are not life-threatening and are easily curable, such as skin cancers and DCIS.

The statistics most commonly reported include many such easily curable cancers, such as localized cancers of the cervix, non-spreading cancers and melanomas, as well as "cancers" that many feel are not true cancers at all, merely pre-cances. For example, DCIS is a pre-cancerous condition that is 99% curable and makes up 30% of all breast cancers. Deduct that 30% from the breast cancer cure rates and survival statistics and and the figures are much less impressive.

4. By allowing earlier detection to erroneously imply longer survival.

5. By deleting patients from cancer treatment studies who die too soon, even if that is on the 89th day of a 90 day chemotherapy protocol.

6. By using a questionable adjustment called "relative survival rate" where they get to deduct a certain number of cancer victims who statistics say would have died during the five years of other causes such as heart attacks, car wrecks, etc.

Source: Tanya Harter Pierce "Outsmart Your Cancer"

These outrageous "fudges", as Ms. Harter too kindly calls them, have all been incorporated into cancer cure statistics to hide the fact that the war on cancer has been hopelessly lost and wrongly waged. In the opinion of many who are far more knowledgeable and qualified than I am, the so-called War on Cancer is little more than a hoax.

"Everyone should know that most cancer research is largely a fraud and that the major cancer research organisations are derelict in their duties to the people who support them." - Linus Pauling PhD (Two-time Nobel Prize winner).

"The National Anti-Cancer Program is a bunch of sh*t." - James Watson, Nobel Laureate for Medicine in 1962 , joint discoverer of the double helix of DNA, and for two years a member of the US Joint Advisory Committee on Cancer

When it comes to mainstream successes, of the three major mainstream treatment methods, surgery is the only one with respectable success rates and even then it is only successful the vast majority of the time in those who have operable types of cancer that has not yet metastisized at the time of diagnosis - and most cancers are not detected prior to metastisizing.

When it comes to Chemo, in the words of Dr. Ralph Moss:

"Chemo has some success in a few kinds of cancer, but in the conventional cancers which chemotherapy sometimes "works" such as small-cell lung cancers, the actual survival benefit is reckoned in weeks or months, not in years. And during this time, the patient is likely to experience major, even life threatening, side effects from the treatment, so the overall advantage to the patient is moot."

Radiation results are even more dismal. In some studies, patients who opted for radiation have had lower survival rates than those who did not have radiation.

Sources: Tanya Harter Pierce, Dr. Rath Foundation

Another common deception of mainstream medicine is to quote "response rates", which is defined as having a 50% tumor shrinkage for a period of twelve months. It has nothing to do with cure rates or long term survival, but it is the statistic that is often quoted to patient by their oncologists.

Yet another deception is the use of the term "remission" to imply cure, when it is nothing of the sort. As "the Cancer Tutor" Webster Kehr writes in "The War Between Orthodox Medicine and Alternative Medicine"

First of all, the National Cancer Institute defines "remission" as:

"A decrease in or disappearance of signs and symptoms of cancer. In partial remission, some, but not all, signs and symptoms of cancer have disappeared. In complete remission, all signs and symptoms of cancer have disappeared, although cancer still may be in the body." NCI - http://www.nci.nih.gov/dictionary/db_alpha.aspx?expand=R What exactly does this definition mean relative to the three "treatment decision criteria" . . . You, the citizen, are supposed to assume that "remission" means a person is cured of their cancer. But that is not what the definition states. It states there is an absence of "signs and symptoms." So is there a correlation between the absence of "signs and symptoms" and the three treatment decision criteria above?

Generally, the determination of remission is based on a reduction in the size of the tumor or in the change of some tumor marker. These things may indicate the number of cancer cells in the body, but they are very, very crude estimates of the number of cancer cells in the body. These numbers also do not measure the pain and suffering of the patient (i.e. the quality of life) or the status of the immunity system, which is very, very important if all of the cancer cells have not been killed.

And then there is what is likely the greatest mainstream deception of all: the millions of people who are diagnosed with cancer, but actually die from the damages done by chemotherapy and radiation, most frequently major organ failure. All of those deaths are recorded as due to cancer. Though that does not bolster the mainstream cancer treatment success rates, it helps hide the dangers and deaths due to mainstream treatments.

It should be plain that the war against cancer is not being won - and to continue to claim otherwise after over half a century begs the question of why such obviously false and misleading claims and statistics. In this respect, one is reminded of the Vietnam War, where we were told that we won every battle and that we killed many more of the enemy in every skirmish. And yet the war was a failure and in the end we admitted it, stopped deceiving the public, and moved on to a different approach to stop the needless loss of lives. Today it appears that the war with Iraq will ultimately end the same way.

The war against cancer has lasted much longer and we have lost millions and millions of lives. After over half a century of failure, one has to ask how long will it take to admit it, stop deceiving the public, and move on to a different approach to stop the needless loss of lives?

Early in 2007 I published a book entitled Breast Cancer "Cause - Prevention - Cure" (ISBN-10: 0955422108)and in it I described an amazing discovery of a Cure for Cancer that now exists. However, for reasons outlined in the book news of the cure has been hushed up, until a synthetic version of the drug based on a natural herb called artemsinin grown in China and Vietnam has been developed. The reason for waiting for this synthetic version to materialise is because a natural herb cannot be patented, and consequently, the big drug companies cannot make any money out of it.

One of the leading researchers involved in developing the drug is Henry Lai, Research Professor at the Department of Bioengineering, at the Univeristy of Washington. As he says himself in his profile, "A new area of research is to investigate the use of the compound artemisinin and its analogs for cancer treatment and prevention. New relating synthetic compounds have been synthesized and are being tested in our laboratory. These compounds have very high potency and selectivity in killing cancer cells."

It appears that the drug that I have mentioned in my book has now been synthesized, and when I wrote an email to Dr Lai on the 24th July 2007 for an update on his researches. He kindly replied and said, ""We are developing several more potent compounds of artemisinin. A version is described in the attached paper. We have more potent compounds that we have not yet published." He sent me a copy of the attached paper that he referred to, which can be downloaded from my website listed below, where you can also read the latest news and view a 40 minute video lecture made by Dr Lai at the university in 2005.

Patents have now been applied for in the USA and Canada

USA - Patent 20040067875

CANADA - CA 2488347

"In one aspect, the invention provides covalent conjugates between artemisinin-related endoperoxides and iron-carrying proteins. In some embodiments, the covalent conjugates comprise artelinate and holotransferrin. In another aspect, the invention provides methods for administering the covalent conjugates of the invention to treat cancer and infections by pathogens that bind iron-carrying proteins."

INTERNATIONAL PATENT DETAILS

METHODS OF USING ARTEMISININ-LIKE COMPOUNDS TO PREVENT OR DELAY THE APPEARANCE OF CANCER - "The invention provides methods for preventing or delaying the development of cancer by administering free radical-generating agents to a subject. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Artemisinin is a sesquiterpene lactone isolated from the plant Artemisia annua L, extracts of which has been used to treat malaria for at least 1600 years. The artemisinin molecule contains an endoperoxide bridge that reacts with an iron atom to form free radicals. The anti-malarial action of artemisinin is due to its reaction with intra-parasitic heme to generate free radicals, causing cell death. Cancer cells have a significantly higher influx of iron than normal cells. Accordingly, it has been shown that artemisinin and artemisinin analogs are cytotoxic against established tumors and tumor cell lines (see, e. g. , Woerdenbag et al. (1993) J Nat. Prod. 56 (6): 849-56; Lai & Singh (1995) Cancer Lett. 91 : 41-6 ; Efferth et al. (2001) Int. J : Oncol. 18: 767-73; Li et al. (2001) Bioorg. Med."

Read the incredible story about the cure from my book online FREE

In my book, I claimed that within the next five years news of this cancer treatment will be be a hot topic world wide, but you should know that the drug is available now in its natural form. I have added the full chapter from my book on my website so you can read the incredible story yourself - and it is an incredible story. YOU MUST READ IT IF NOTHING ELSE. I believe that the Holy Grail that doctors have been searching for, namely "A REAL CURE FOR CANCER" has been found. I invite you to read details in the chapter from my book that I have uploaded to my website below and you can decide for yourself what I say is true or not. If you have cancer then this story may be instrumental in saving your life, and I offer this knowledge to you free. Below is an abstract from the chapter, which centres on one factor that is known - cancer needs more iron than normal cells to grow and the new drug uses this relationship to destroy cancer cells.....

The Relationship between Cancer and Iron

Ask any doctor or health practiciner and you will be told that iron is a key ingredient for cell division and cancer cells require a great deal more iron to replicate itself than normal cells. Cancer cells divide at a very high rate. So, in order to divide at this high rate, cancer cells have to accumulate high concentrations of iron. In fact, the surface of cancer cells have many more iron attracting receptors than on the surface of a normal, healthy cell. Hence, if you were able to restrict the amount of iron to a cancer cell, it actually slows down cancer growth, and of course the reverse is true. "The combination of high iron stores in the body and a high iron intake from food could raise a person's risk of cancer, a new study suggests", says the Annals of Family Medicine as reported by Reuters Health. [20]

Likewise, a New U.S. research also suggests that eating a lot of iron-rich foods may increase the risk of cancer. Researchers at the Medical University of South Carolina analysed population-based data from the US National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys and found that people with elevated levels of serum transferrin saturation - an indicator of iron overload - who consume high levels of dietary iron had an increased risk of cancer and cancer mortality. Now you know why? However, one cannot restict iron because it plays such an essential role in the health of a person.

Iron is bound and transported in the body via transferrin and stored in ferritin molecules. 75% of absorbed iron is bound to proteins such as blood hemoglobin that are involved in oxygen transport. Once iron is absorbed, there is no physiologic mechanism for excretion of excess iron from the body other than blood loss i.e., pregnancy, menstruation or other bleeding.

Restricting iron makes a person anemic and unhealthy, while too much causes cancer to spread more rapidly, so the body needs to retain a balance in between. So we have a lifestyle issue here. Tumour cells and bacteria need iron to grow, and our bodies try to starve them of iron by diverting the iron from the blood to storage sites deep within the tissues. It is well known, biochemically, that if you add iron to tumour cells in cultures, they grow at a much faster rate and that breast cancer cells thrive on iron.

In 1988, many studies began to surface showing that iron was indeed a risk in common cancers such as lung, colon, bladder, oesophagus, and at levels that were shockingly less than doctors had previously considered dangerous. A study in the New England Journal of Medicine (Oct. 1988) by Dr. Richard Stevens showed that as iron saturation levels increase, cancer rates go up. Until that time a 65% saturation level was considered to be safe, but this study showed that at a 37% saturation level, the cancer rate started to skyrocket, and doctors began to question the levels they had previously considered safe. In January 1994, in the International Journal of Cancer, Dr. Stevens reported that cancer rates were increasing at levels of only 31%.

It is now clear that cancer cells grow less or more rapidly depending upon how much iron has been absorbed by the body and transported to the sites of the cells. The transport medium is by transferrin. This is a plasma protein that transports iron through the blood to various parts of the body. Iron-hungry cancer cells typically have significantly more transferrin receptors on their surface than normal cells, which allows them to take in more of the iron-carrying protein into their structure. When a transferrin protein loaded with iron encounters a transferrin receptor on the surface of a cell, it binds to it and is consequently transported into the cell in a vesicle, a kind of sac. The cell will acidify the vesicle, causing transferrin to release its iron ions. The receptor is then transported through the endocytic cycle back to the cell surface, ready for another round of iron uptake.

Although it is now known that iron plays a key role in cancer development, and scientists have for a number of years been trying to find ways of using this information to target cancer cells and destroying them through utilising this mechanism. nonetheless it has been a hit and miss affair. Some progress have been made, some treatments have been tried but these have been very difficult to implement and costly to produce. It has been like that for fifty years or more.

The cancer industry has searched for the elusive cure for cancer for a long time, so we have been told, and have spent billions of dollars in research and development of treatments that have had limited success. They and those whom they support, the chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries have become rich from not being able to find a cure - making millions on dubious treatments. Imagine the shock, the horror to find that the Holy Grail of cancer treatments suddenly appearing like magic out of the blue and to learn that it is a drug that is derived from a Chinese herb, of all things. It is almost unthinkable if it wasn't for the fact that it is true...

Gall bladder cancer is a rare type of digestive disease that can develop to be a serious form of cancer. More women get afflicted than men. In most cases, gall bladder cancer is not detected until it has developed to an advanced state. Because of the difficulty in diagnosing gall bladder cancer until it has become advanced, the treatment options can lead to a disheartening prognosis. As such, it is better to prevent gall bladder cancer in the first place before it becomes too late. Prevention can be made with liver cleansing and diet changes.

Gall bladder cancer symptoms include abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, yellowing of the eyes and skin, and unexplained weight loss and loss of appetite.

There are 4 stages to cancer of the gall bladder. These include:

Stage 1: Gall bladder cancer has an affect on the wall of the gall bladder.

Stage 2: The cancer has spread through the wall of the gall bladder, but has not spread to nearby lymph nodes or organs.

Stage 3: The cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes and organs, such as the stomach, liver, colon, or the small intestines.

Stage 4: The cancer has spread into two or more organs or has spread to distant lymph nodes or the liver or lungs. This is called metastatic or secondary cancer.

There is much to be learned about the causes of gall bladder cancer. It appears that there are some indications that those with gall stones are more likely to develop this form of cancer. This being the case, liver cleansing can be of use. Liver cleansing can help remove gall stones that would otherwise be left undetected in your body. Liver cleansing can be done through herbs or using a regime of Epsom salts, cold pressed organic olive oil and lemon juice.

Drinking green tea also helps fight many types of cancer, including digestive cancers. Green tea is full of various anti-oxidants which may be the active ingredients preventing disease.

Antioxidants inhibit the oxidation of other molecules. This means that antioxidants halt chemical reactions in the body that can damage cells. Some oxidation is a natural part of body chemistry. However, it can be damaging if allowed to continue beyond a certain point. If your body does not retain a needed level of antioxidants, excessive oxidation may damage your cells producing a condition called oxidative stress. Foods that are high in anti-oxidants include berries, pomegranates, legumes, apples, black plums and prunes, pecans, potatoes, and green tea.

You have just learned about two powerful arsenals that can help prevent gall bladder cancer: liver cleansing and supporting your body with foods rich in anti-oxidants. Through diet, it is possible to build an immune system that can ward off diseases.

Radiotherapy

Radiotherapy uses small doses of radiation projected by machines aimed at the sick organ(s) or radioactive implants. The unit of measurement is the electron volt. For deep organs, this can reach 25 million electron volts.

Radiotherapy appears to increase life expectancy for some cancers but is plagued by a large number of side effects. Most common is the fatigue associated with this form of treatment. Patients who receive Radiotherapy for breast cancer may subsequently develop lung cancer. One study of 31 patients treated this way showed that 19 of them went on to develop lung cancer about 17 years later (Med Oncol. 1994).

A risk of fibrosis and damaged cells is also possible when Radiation bullets are inserted in the vagina to treat cervical cancer (Diagn Cytol 1995).

High dose of Radiotherapy used in certain difficult cancers lower the life expectancy of the patient. Bladder problems, incontinence, sexual malfunction, vomiting, diarrhoea and heart problems may occur after radiation to the abdomen.

Radiotherapy to the head can cause damage to the salivary and tear duct glands as well as to the brain. Radiotherapy can also damage bones and make them weaker and prone to fractures.

Edward Griffin states: "Radiology.. spreads the cancer and weakens the patient's resistance to other diseases. Serious and painful side effects, including heart failure. No evidence that treated patients live any longer, on the average, than those not treated. Statistical rate of long term survival after metastasis is close to zero" (World Without Cancer by Edward Griffin).

Surgery

Dr Richard Evans states: "there is no survival disadvantage to leaving tumour cells alone and simply observing the patient" ("Making the right choice" (Avery Publishing) by Dr Richard Evans) A review in Med Hypoth, 1993 also claimed that surgery does not make any difference as to the survival of the patient.

Surgery is believed by many to cause the spreading of cancer by puncturing the cancerous tumour and spreading its content to surrounding cells. Surgery will also cause trauma to the area and this in turn will cause a healing reaction that can cause the further development of cancerous cells (a theory offered by John Beard, professor of embryology at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. His paper was published in 1902 in the British Medical journal the Lancet).

It is also difficult, even for the most competent surgeon, to remove all cancerous cells. Should some of the cancer cells be left in the patient, they may become surrounded by scar tissues. These scar tissues would protect the cancer that could not then be attacked by the pancreatic enzymes necessary to destroy the tumour.

However, surgery, if performed properly, can save the life of patients by clearing an important blockage and buying them time to properly fight their disease.

Statistically speaking, surgery to remove tumours located near the main organs or reproductive system has a 10-15% chance of helping patients to a longer life. When the cancer has already spread, the chances of long term survival are very poor.

The tumour itself will not kill the patient. However what happens, is that cancerous tumours keep on growing and takes more and more space inside the body. Eventually, it may grow so big that it will prevent the organ it is in from working properly. The tumour may also affect the surrounding organ and squeezed them once again preventing their proper functioning.

You must be completely puzzled now as to what your approach to a serious disease should be.

Don't. The golden rule to fight any disease is very holistic (mind/ body and spirit)

1- Sort out your emotions (mind) 2- Sort out your diet (body) and environmental toxins 3- Re-energise your body with treatments or good supplements (more about this later) and don't panic. In the words of George Ohsawa: "there is no incurable disease - only incurable people". But don't leave it to late. Take care of your health BEFORE you are sick.

If you have been a person who has previously had cancer and wants to go on an overseas holiday, you may find that you have your work cut out for you when it comes to finding an affordable travel insurance policy.

In fact, there are some insurance firms which will not offer any insurance at all to those who have had or do have cancer. Of the companies that do offer insurance, they sometimes charge you more than the cost of your flights. For instance, one company, Free Spirit, charges a 48-year-old woman who had breast cancer five years ago £248.70 for a 17-day worldwide policy. Compare this to someone without any health concerns where the insurance costs are as little as £20.

This example has been backed up by a recent survey conducted by the charity ‘Cancerbackup’ which reveals that nine in ten people struggle to get travel insurance if they have had cancer. Even if people are fit to travel, seven in ten are offered policies with sky high premiums or else refused insurance all together, the survey suggests.
And so as a result of insurance problems, one in 20 people linked to cancer choose to travel without insurance. One in ten, as a result, cancel their trip.

But there is now, perhaps, some hope. As a result of the survey conducted by ‘Cancerbackup’, the Association of British Insurers (ABI) is investigating whether companies are in fact discriminating against cancer sufferers. The association says it also wants to make sure the ‘Cancerbackup’ survey results have not put people off taking out travel insurance all together before going on holiday. A spokesperson for the charity Macmillan Cancer Support calls for this sort of probing saying: “The insurance industry needs to recognize that not all cancers are the same and treat people accordingly.”

Cancer as a disease itself is so grueling for people it is only natural many of them want to give themselves a relaxing overseas holiday when their treatment is finished. And rightly so says, one of the firms that does offer cancer suffers insurance – Medi Travelcover.
A spokesperson for the company says the extra costs for the insurance are worth it because when someone is feeling low, a holiday can be just what they need. The company says it has sympathy with people who are refused travel insurance outright.
“Being refused insurance can have a terrible impact on their morale”, the spokesperson says.

When it comes to life insurance or private medical insurance it is quite understandable how someone might be refused the opportunity to take out cover. But then it seems crazy that someone who has had cancer a long time ago cannot get any reasonably priced medical insurance for a straight forward holiday. The situation is likely to become more of an issue too, with one million people having been diagnosed with cancer sometime in their life. So it is no wonder the Association of British Insurers is now doing some probing about the situation – some might argue that the probing has not happened soon enough.

Websites which offer more information include the Cancerbackup website (www.cancerbackup.org.uk) and Cancer Research website (www.cancerresearchuk.org/).

With the majority of things in life it is true to say that the more practiced and experienced you are the better your performance and this is most certainly true when it comes to prostate cancer surgery.

A significant problem with cancer is that, despite the best efforts of your surgeon, it has a nasty habit of recurring in a number of cases. In the case of prostate cancer following the removal of the prostate through radical prostatectomy recent studies have revealed that, while the chances of a recurrence are about 18 percent where surgery is carried out by a relatively inexperienced surgeon, this figure falls to less than 11 percent in more experience hands. So exactly what do we mean by 'experienced hands'?

A recently conducted study examined 7,800 prostate cancer patients who underwent radical prostatectomy in the United States between 1987 and 2003 involving a total of 72 surgeons from 4 major academic cancer centers around the country.

The study found that there is a very steep learning curve when it comes to carrying out prostate surgery and that it requires considerable practice to master this particular surgical technique. Indeed, the study revealed that it was not until surgeons had carried out at least 250 operations that a marked improvement in outcomes was seen.

So exactly what can we learn from this study if we are faced with the prospect of requiring prostate surgery?

First it is extremely important for patients to select a surgeon who frequently performs this type of surgery. Indeed, it might well be advisable to select a surgeon who specializes exclusively in prostate surgery, or whose work revolves largely around such surgery. In the majority of general hospital settings surgeons will carry out such surgery infrequently, perhaps as rarely as just once a year, and this is not sufficient to give them the expertise necessary to provide you with the best possible change of a low recurrence rate.

In the light of this therefore your first choice should undoubtedly be that of a specialist cancer treatment center and of a surgeon whose work involves exclusively, or very largely, prostate surgery.

The study also showed however that there is a marked improvement in recurrence rates not only for specialist cancer centers, but also for teaching hospitals. This is because, within an academic setting, a great deal of emphasis is placed upon supporting mechanisms to evaluate the outcome of procedures and to provide feedback in an effort to create an environment in which continuous improvement is seen. This tends not always to be the case in non-academic environments. Also, academic centers tend to attract people who are especially interested not only in the outcome of their work but in correcting their errors and improving their surgical technique.

So, should you find yourself in the position of requiring prostate surgery then you would be well advised to elect to have surgery with an experienced surgeon working in a specialist cancer center housed within a major teaching facility.

Statistics show that African American men are at greater risk of dying from prostate cancer than white men and most statisticians agree that the risk in the case of African Americans is roughly two and a half times that of white Americans. Howver, is this data misleading?

The answer to this question may be found in a study carried out not long ago in North Carolina. The study involved some 253 white men and 84 African Americans aged between 40 and 75 who had been diagnosed with prostate cancer between 2001 and 2004.

The study considered several factors including, income, attitudes towards health care and health care providers, access to care, employment, family history, screening history, the existence of other medical conditions, treatment, symptoms and whether the men had health insurance.

The study discovered that 55 percent of the African Americans earned under $40,000 a year compared to 23 percent for white men. The study also showed that African Americans were more likely to be less well educated, to have blue-collar jobs, to have co-existing medical problems and to be unemployed because of illness or disability.

Additionally, the study showed that only 3 percent of white men did not have medical insurance, compared to 8 percent of African Americans and that just over 30 percent of white men has some type of supplemental Medicare coverage, compared to 17 percent of African Americans.

One particularly interesting finding was the fact that both groups of men were well informed about both the risks of prostrate cancer and the need for treatment, but that the African Americans took greater responsibility for their own health and were not as likely to trust their doctors. In fact several of the African Americans stated that they were mistrustful of their doctors and believed that the advice they were giving was more likely to be influenced by the cost of treatment than it was to be based upon patient needs.

On the important question of screening, African Americans were less inclined to have regular check-ups, digital rectal examinations or prostate specific antigen (PSA) tests. The study also reported that African Americans were more than twice as likely to have had to request a PSA test than white men.

The study makes it clear that there is a marked different between the two groups which lies in the lack of early detection in the case of African Americans and that this arises to a large degree from the fact that they do not have sound relationships with their doctors, have poor access to affordable and convenient care and do not carry adequate health insurance.

Clearly it is difficult to assign numbers to a study of this type and further, and larger, studies will have to be carried out to quantify the differenced between African Americans and white Americans. Nevertheless, it would appear that much of the difference does not lie in the fact that African Americans are more likely to develop prostate cancer but stems from the fact that they are more likely to die from the disease because of its late detection.

If the gap between the two groups as far as the provision of healthcare were narrowed the statistics could well look very different.

Many men don't realize how important prostate health is until it is too late. Most men dont even want to admit they have a prostate, let alone have a regular prostate exam. This is so important because prostate cancer is a risk that you don't want to take and when you see your doctor regularly for prostate exams, you are ensuring that if you should contract prostate cancer you will be treated at the earliest possible stages.

In the earliest stages, most men will not see a sign of prostate cancer. It is not until treatment options become limited that most men find out they have the disease. There are things that men should watch out for that can signal that there might be a sign of prostate cancer.

For those men who think there is a chance that they have a sign of prostate cancer, some things that may occur are having dull pain in the lower region of the pelvic area and you may also notice that you feel an urgent need to urinate. You may also become aware that you have some difficulty getting started urinating. Another sign of prostate cancer can be pain while you are urinating, a urine flow that is weak, and the sensation that your bladder isnt completely empty when you do go.

Other things you may want to watch out for is urinating during the night frequently, pain when you ejaculate and sometimes even blood in your urine. Another sign of prostate cancer can be pain in your bones that is persistent, losing your appetite or losing a noticeable amount of weight and experiencing pain your hips, lower back or your upper thighs. If you notice any of sign of prostate cancer that we have mentioned, it is in your best interest to see your doctor immediately and have a prostate exam.

It is better to err on the side of caution then to allow symptoms to worsen because you are nervous about what will happen when you visit the doctor. Nothing is worse than knowing you could have prevented painful treatments had you only visited your doctor sooner.

You may be surprised to learn that gastric cancer is on the decline, bucking the trend of most other types of cancer. It is disappointing to read research health news about the increase in cancer rates and painful to hear yet another report of the illness of someone we know who has lost the fight to cancer. Fortunately, there appears to be some hope in the horizon.

Gastric cancer cases, in comparison, were many back years ago. This type of cancer was number eight in the cause of death by cancer in the United States in 1944. While there is still room for debate on the subject, most medical professionals believes that specific changes in the American diet has resulted in the positive turn for gastric cancer cases. They say that it is because of the advances in refrigeration that resulted in people eating more fruits and vegetables and less of foods preserved in salt. The revised diet contains many anti-oxidants which are believed to reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease, and stroke.

Gastric cancer is cancer of the stomach. It can spread to the small intestines and the esophagus and other parts of the body such as lymph nodes, lungs, ovaries, and bones. Symptoms include abdominal pain, feelings of fullness or bloating when it is not expected, nausea and vomiting, unexplained weight loss. Although these symptoms can be caused by other health issues, it is important to have them evaluated early for the right diagnosis and early treatment.

Antioxidants are molecules that hinder the oxidation of other molecules. In other words, antioxidants stop chain reactions which can occur in the body that can damage cells. Although some oxidation is necessary, it can be damaging if unchecked. If your body does not retain a needed level of antioxidants, your cells can be damaged or killed by a condition called oxidative stress.

Hence, to prevent or reduce cancer, ensure that your diet is rich in anti-oxidants. The following foods are good sources of gastric cancer fighting anti-oxidants.

Legumes
Potatoes
Berries
Black plums and prunes
Pomegranate
Apples
Green Tea
Pecans

Gastric cancer cases are on the decline; mainly attributed to the ability to refrigerate or freeze food and thereby allowing the general public to consume more foods that are fresh. This positive trend should give us hope that making changes to our diet in a more healthy direction can help to prevent cancer and other serious and degenerative diseases.

Mesothelioma is a very rare type of cancer that develop in the outer membrane of some internal organs of the human body, it may develop in the outer membrane of the lungs which known as the pleura, may develop in the outer membrane of the internal organs in the abdominal cavity and may develop in the outer membrane of the heart which known as the pericardium.

Pleural mesothelioma or the cancer of lung lining is the most common type of mesothelioma cancer and often be associated with the asbestos exposure. Asbestos are several minerals that was used in the manufacturing companies, workers which was in the asbestos environment are the most people who can develop mesothelioma due to the direct contact with the asbestos particles, by inhalation asbestos fibers can enter the chest cavity and settle in the pleura (the lung lining) and cause chronic inflammation which may cause malignant tumors after several years.

Pericardial mesothelioma is less common than pleural mesothelioma and related to asbestos exposure, in this type the asbestos particles settle in the pericardium (the heart lining). Scientists don't know how asbestos can get in pericardium, there is an imagine way in which asbestos particles are transfered from the pleura to blood steam then to the heart, the heart pumps them to the pericardium and the disease start to grow there.

Peritoneal mesothelioma is another type of mesothelioma and affects the peritoneum. Peritoneum is the outer membrane of internal organs in the abdominal cavity. Peritoneal mesothelioma is often related to asbestos exposure.

Mesothelioma symptoms may be shortness of breath, cough, chest pain and general weakness. Mesothelioma diagnosis is very difficult, as its symptoms are very similar to other kinds of diseases take very long time to appear 25-50 years. The options of treatments are confined to surgery, chemotherapy ( special chemicals to kill the cancerous cells) and radiotherapy ( using some kind of radiations to get rid of the cancerous cells).

Why is it that when the topic of breast cancer crops up in conversation some women tend to shy away in belief that they personally are exempt from contacting the disease? Listen up ladies breast cancer is serious and can affect any one of us at any time. It is in every woman's best interest to do regular self breast examinations. Many cancers are curable and the odds get better for survival if the cancer is caught in the early stage.

Ignorance is a deadly concoction for those in denial after finding a lump in their breast or any other type of health abnormality. If you choose to ignore the warning signs on health matters as such then you may be living under threat of a death sentence.

Early detection of breast cancer with the aid of modern medicine will definitely give a woman hope in curing the breast cancer if diagnosis was sanctioned.

Breast awareness should be practised by every female regardless of age. What is meant by awareness is where you are encouraged to get intimate with your self i.e. looking for abnormalities in the breast. Women need to know what is normal and what is abnormal. Change in look and texture of the breasts is a common way that women can tell if something is not right.

Symptoms that you need to check for and may suggest that something is not right are lumps or thickening of the tissue, pain is also another factor that can denote a problem. A common change is discharge from the nipple any unusual appearance or sensation to tethering of the skin. Why cause your self unnecessary stress where you maybe worrying over something or nothing. Only your doctor after giving you an examination is in the position to let you know if any of the above symptoms are caused by breast cancer being present.

As we speak there are no definite causes to blame for the disease, however, certain risk factors have been identified like inheritance i.e. inherited gene mutations. Of course just because you may have had a relative contract breast cancer at some time does not mean that you will.

Life's natural function of the aging process is another risk factor that sees 80 per cent of breast cancer affect women when in the post-menopausal period. As the woman ages the more genetic damage accumulates in the cells, increasing the risk that the genes which direct growth will go out of control. Other certain risk factors have been labelled as having no children or children late in life, taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and starting your periods early or the menopause late. Once again these are speculative causes believed to be risk factors.

Scientific study has enlightened us that taking the contraceptive pill can slightly increase the risk of breast cancer. It is of the utmost importance that you see your doctor or nurse at the clinic if you find an abnormal lump etc. If breast cancer is detected then the right treatment can be carried out or the right medicine administered.

An examination more often than not will include blood tests and chest x-ray. if you have a lump then the doctor may need to take a closer look possibly using an ultrasound, mammogram, needle aspiration and/or needle biopsy. However some tests may need to go further where certain examinations include having liver or bone scans. Some women tend to scare themselves when reading about breast or cervical cancer, and it because of this that they choose to ignore and in some cases dismiss the fact that their problem maybe cancer related. This is not a healthy approach in looking for a cure.

MEDICAL BREAKTHROUGH: The side effects of Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy may be a thing of the past with the new tumor treating device known as Cytotron. Though still in infancy many Cytotron treated patients have survived longer than predicted by the treating doctors. What is more, most had relief from the pain and agony of their cancer and some even went back to work. A surgeon who had brain cancer is back operating upon his patients after Cytotron Therapy.

The patients selected for clinical trials after having had surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy were declared to have no available conventional treatment option. Cytotron came as a turning point in their lives and thanks to Cytotron many of them are still alive today.

Cytotron is considered by doctors as a future methodology in the treatment of cancer. Cytotron produces Rotational Field Quantum Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (RFQMR) beams from 288 guns that are focused precisely on the area requiring treatment to non-invasively degenerate or regenerate and repair tissues and organs in the human body. The treatment has been certified safe as normal, healthy cells are not affected in any way.

Cytotron’s tissue degenerating ability is helping cancer patients arrest cancer growth whereas its regenerating capability of the Cytotron has helped hundreds of patients get relief from osteoarthritis pain of the knee and other joints.

Any fresh food farmer would vouch for the healing powers of the food he labors so hard to bring to market. Since the time of Hippocrates philosophers have known that food is the best medicine! Why not boost your immunity 3 times a day or more with healthy eating? Because food is also the only energy source humans use to survive.

First let's stop trying to get human energy out of fake food. To overcome or avoid cancer human bodies demand the right fresh food at every meal. Hundreds of people all over the world are willing to let go of fear long enough to try a fresh food diet and be cured, mind body and spirit. How do I know this to be true, you might ask...?

While doing cancer research I had to read scholarly scientific journals. An article in the respected scientific journal, The Lancet changed my mind about food. The article described the actions of a Polynesian woman who was diagnosed in America with a deadly blood related cancer. She was in an experimental group being treated with a wonder drug not yet released to the public since it was in the research phase. At a critical juncture in the treatment she decided to leave and go back to her country. Highly disappointed, her doctors gave up on her survival since they believed that she could not survive without their treatments.

Surprise! She returned a year later happily married, with a baby and tested negative for cancer. She informed her physicians that she was healed. A medicine man advised that she fall in love, and eat the fresh food of her country she explained. Whatever she ate had a powerful positive effect on her immune system.

Can the right diet miraculously boost immunity and heal? I am betting on it. The American Institute of Cancer Research (AICR) has this idea as its mission. So I suggest, first change your mind about the ability of your body to heal, and adopt a 'food as medicine' attitude.

1. Fall in love with this idea and then pur sue knowledge about food and healing as if it was a new lover.

2. Cook and eat hearty whole grains, especially in bread.

3. Get excited about the miracle minerals of vegetables. They are natural cancer prevention kits. Flush out body toxins with fresh fruit and vegetable juices.

4. Rethink every thing you know about fats and carbohydrates especially if you lean towards high – low diets.

5. Make healthy informed food choices preferably not heard on a television commercial. It is either this, or become caught in a cycle of fear and fighting dangerous diseases with newly designed drugs; as we ignore long pages of contraindications which no one reads except lawyers.

Eating like this nips disease in the bud, boosts your immune system, and leaves you enjoying a healthier, happier body .

The American Cancer Society predicts 34,170 new cancer cases in Texas this year. Of those, 2, 480 are expected to be breast—in third place, following lung (9,920 cases expected), and colon/rectum (3,220). Nationally, 26% of new cancer diagnoses—178,480—will be breast, accounting for one-third of all cancers in women. Warnings about environmental toxins, the dangers of inadequate diet and nutrition, and risk factors associated with family history abound. Combined with dismal statistics on the declining number of those able to afford individual health insurance—25.1% in Texas are uninsured—it can all seem more than a little overwhelming.

The lifetime risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer is approximately one in eight, or 13.2%. Risk substantially increases with age, genetic tendencies, family history, personal medical history, and obesity. A woman in her thirties has only a 1 in 229 (0.4%) chance of being diagnosed, while a woman in her sixties has a 1 in 26 chance (3.8%). Survival rates for cancer increase with proper screening, early detection, and quality treatment (which, in turn, increases with health insurance coverage). These low percentages overall seem unconcerning, very low, in fact, but when we stop to consider what this means in actual numbers, or the fact we probably know someone affected by the disease, it hits closer to home.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure, along with the American Cancer Society and other non-profit groups, are helping women in Texas and across the country take control of their health by reducing risk factors. Women of all ages are fighting back with knowledge, support groups, and a push for healthier lifestyles. One can substantially reduce risk by becoming aware of, and adjusting for, personal vulnerabilities to the disease and establishing healthy habits. The younger the better, and young women are becoming more and more aware.

Many still believe that what puts a woman primarily at risk is genetic tendency (i.e., family history), but this simply isn't true. Only 5-10% of cases are linked with the BRCA genes, and only 30% of women with breast cancer have a family history of it. While certain uncontrollable factors significantly contribute to its incidence—including family history, early onset of menarche (having the first period before 12), late onset of menopause, the first full-term pregnancy after 30, hormone use, and being over 5'3"—a woman can reduce her risk, family history or not, by following a healthy lifestyle and making certain key medical decisions.

Obesity and physical activity are among those controllable risks. Weight gain of more than 20-30 pounds after 18 is of particular note. An obese woman has a higher risk of getting breast cancer, as do physically inactive women. The belief is that higher fat content produces more estrogen in the body, which, in turn, increases risk.

In 2005, Texas reported 27% of its residents as obese, above the national average of 24.4%. Recent studies of children in Dallas, Houston, and other cities across the state indicate troublingly high percentages of obesity in those under 18, as well. A child with unhealthy lifestyle habits has a higher chance of retaining those unhealthy habits as an adult, which, in turn, puts that adult at higher risk for certain cancers and chronic conditions. Establishing regular exercise and smart diet choices as early as possible in young women not only reduces the risk of breast cancer, but also improves overall well-being. A consistent physical regimen, producing an elevated heart rate for thirty or more minutes, several times a week, will decrease chances of not only breast cancer, but also many other diseases.

Estrogen exposure is another reason behind the slight increase of breast cancer in women taking (and shortly after taking) the birth control pill, as well as the risk associated with women participating in HRT (hormone replacement therapy), particularly after menopause. While short-term use of these hormones has been associated with reduced danger, anyone considering these treatments would be wise to weigh all the pros and cons before beginning.

Alcohol consumption increases cancer risk. Even a few drinks a week could affect one's chances, but, in general, physicians say not to worry too much about enjoying a glass of wine or the occasional beer. Data suggests that the biggest concern over alcohol is its overuse; alcohol affects the way the liver processes estrogen.

Larger breasts, as well as asymmetrical breasts, may work against a woman, and choosing not to nurse may also increase the chances of getting breast cancer. Why nursing can dramatically influence risk—reducing it by as much as 50%--is not exactly known, but studies have shown that women who breastfeed several children, for extended periods, gain the greatest benefits.

Overall, it can be a little frightening. Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, and, with so many women being diagnosed with breast cancer alone every year, it's hard not to become overwhelmed. But we're fighting back, and young women are becoming more aware every day of what they can do to reduce their chances. Exercise, reduce stress, don't drink too much alcohol, nurse if possible, and, for goodness sake's, monitor yourself. If you're without individual health insurance and find it difficult to go for annual exams (which should include a breast exam), do everything you can to get it. In the end, it's up to you to take control and to fight back.

How you treat your body when you're young will certainly affect your health as you age, and eventually your wallet. Cancer is by far the most devastating disease known in the United States. Those who are diagnosed know the importance of proper nutrition. These are the 5 all important vitamins used to help keep cancer sufferers alive.

1) Vitamin A

Vitamin A is used as an anti-oxidant for important healing properties. A few natural sources to find vitamin are green fruits and vegetables, and even in animal liver.

2) Vitamin B

Vitamin B is highly important to the health of nerves and energy production.
Natural sources include chicken, eggs, yeast, whole grains, green vegetables, and fish.

3) Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, used for circulation and tissue repair. Many natural places to find vitamin E are vegetable oils, green vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds, brown rice, eggs, kelp, oatmeal and sweet potatoes.

4) Vitamin C

Vitamin C is an antioxidant needed to assist many metabolic functions of the human body. Natural sources include citrus fruits, red fruits, yellow vegetables, as well as many different green vegetables. Your body is unable to store this essential nutrient therefore, we need to ingest it each and every day..

5) Vitamin B17

Vitamin B17 is one that interacts with large amounts of beta-glucose in cancer cells. It produces a poison known as hydrogen cyanide to help fight cancer cells. The reason that it does not target healthy cells is that they have small quantities of beta-glucose. It also breaks the poison down into compounds that actually assist your entire immune system.

Natural sources include flaxseed oil, brown rice, yeast, lentils, nuts, pecans, raspberries, strawberries, walnuts, watercress and yams.

Just remember that a diet that supports all elements of the food pyramid is your best chance to fight cancer. I consider this the gift from mother nature.

In 1932, a great scientist by the name of Dr. Otto Warburg received the Nobel Prize in medicine for discovering the cause of cancer.

In regard to Dr. Otto Warburg's cancer research back in the 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's - there is this paragraph in regard to lactic acid production and cancerous cells which have an acidic pH.

The crux of his (Dr. Otto Warburg) Nobel thesis was that malignant tumors frequently exhibit an increase in anaerobic glycolysis -- a process whereby glucose is used as a fuel by cancer cells with lactic acid as an anaerobic by-product -- compared to normal tissues. The large amount of lactic acid produced by this fermentation of glucose from cancerous cells is then transported to the liver.

This conversion of glucose to lactate generates a lower, more acidic pH in cancerous tissues as well as overall physical fatigue from lactic acid buildup. Thus, larger tumors tend to exhibit a more acidic pH. Even my masseuse confirmed this, when she pointed out that the pain in a certain area of my body was caused by the build up of lactic acid.

The above information on the cause of cancerous tissue is important to understand because of the recent developments as follows:

Important research developments in regard to the glucose controlling properties of Avocado's by inhibiting glucokinase responsible for glycolysis that in turn retards and reduces tumor growth. Limiting sugar consumption is not the only line of defense for preventing and reversing cancerous tissue. In fact, a botanical extract of glutathione from the avocado plant is showing promise as a new cancer adjunct. When a purified avocado extract was added to a number of tumor cell lines tested in vitro by researchers in the Department of Biochemistry at Oxford University in Britain, they found it inhibited tumor cell glucose uptake by 25 to 75 percent, and it inhibited the enzyme glucokinase responsible for glycolysis. It also inhibited the growth rate of the cultured tumor cell lines.

The same researchers gave lab animals a 1.7 mg/g body weight dose of the glutathione extract for five days; it reduced tumors by 65 to 79 percent. Based on these studies, there is good reason to believe that avocados and the glutathione extract could help cancer patients by limiting glucose to the tumor cells.

Maintaining proper body ph is crucial to your health. Drink alkaline ionized water daily as a first line of defense to properly alkalize your body and protect against disease. And consider adding avacados or glutathione extract to your diet.

1) Treat the person the same as before.

Do not approach the person as though their body will crumble. Just treat the person the same as you would if they had not been diagnosed with this condition. However, if the situation is terrible, you should adapt your attitude accordingly and not look over serious implications.

2) Offer guidance and assistance.

Whenever you have free time, run errands or help the person in some way. A few examples include shopping, and mailing. Depending on how well you are acquainted with the victim, you might want to come over and spend some time to clean or cook meals.

3) Help with transportation.

If the person grows weak or is unable to drive, ask if you can take them around when you are available. Getting around is one of the greatest challenges facing people who have serious illnesses.

4) Be an encouragement.

Send a funny care card or a get well letter. Even suggest praying together before you leave. Ask the person if you can tell other close friends and use them to help build inspiration. Try to keep them company as long as possible.

5) Become a great listener.

Sometimes those facing a serious illness such as cancer, may simply want to talk about the past, plan their future, or even just share random thoughts and feelings. Just being available to listen can provide a great source of support. But remember, you must wait until the person is ready to talk on their own.

6) Try to help with finances.

You may want to send a card with some cash or a check that could help pay for certain occasions or medication. Try not to overdo this too much. Keep in mind that a little can go a long way.

Prostate cancer is directly linked to the consumption of milk. There are growth promoters that are injected into cows to help the calves grow faster so that production of meat and dairy is efficient. However, the problem with the increase in production is the carrying over of these hormones and growth promoters into those who consume the products. This eventually leads to too many free radicals, and in many cases breast and prostate cancer.

One of the best ways for cancer prevention is to cut out the dairy, or at least limit it. The problem with this is that if you cut out the dairy, where do you get your sources of calcium, proteins, etc.? Eating a healthy diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables will provide your body with enough of the vitamins, and minerals it needs, and will ensure good antioxidant status, therefore decreasing your likelihood of cancer. However, many do not get enough of those vegetables and fruits in their diets, and at least not in the right forms to make all of the nutrients and minerals absorbable and usable by the body.

Having a balanced nutrition plan is not always easy, but there is something you can do to fill in the gaps. You can supplement your nutritional needs with the amazing health beverage Zija. It is made from the "miracle tree" called Moringa oleifera. This tree contains most of the vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients your body needs to function properly and fight off cancer. It can provide you with more than enough calcium so as to make up for a decrease in dairy consumption. But there is even more to it than that.

Prostate cancer is also linked to unsteady levels of Zinc. Zinc status is important and zinc is protective against prostate cancer. The best source of zinc is meat, but many of the problems found in dairy are found in meat as well. So, supplementing your zinc through means of Zija is a great option. Not to mention the fact that the minerals and vitamins found in Zija, such as the Zinc you need to protect against prostate cancer, are more absorbable, and bioavailable in the drink form of Zija than in meats. Just because meats contain a lot of Zinc does not mean that your body can use the zinc found in them.

Your health should be very important to you, and this does not mean that you should go to a totally vegan diet, and eat all of your foods raw. That would definitely protect you from cancer, but is not realistic for most people's lifestyles. So, a better alternative, and one that fits in the lifestyle of everyone, man, woman, and child, is to use a product, such as the convenient health beverage Zija, to fill the nutritional voids your diet is leaving.

Zija is packed with over 90 vitamins and minerals as well as other vital nutrients including those anti-oxidants your body needs to fight cancer. It comes in a handy can and can be taken with you just about anywhere. It is made from the Moringa tree, and is all natural, and has been formulated to ensure that all of the wonderful nutrients found in the tree are also in and usable in the drink. Even those who are eating a proper diet full of the nutrients they need can't go wrong drinking Zija; it will simply boost your already nutritious diet.

So, to fight prostate cancer, fill your body full of good things, avoid growth promoters such as those found in animal products, and make sure you have plenty of anti-oxidants.

Cancer is one of the diseases for which we cannot find a complete cure. A population of cells with abnormal growth characterizes cancer. These abnormal cells invade and destroy adjacent tissues, and may spread to other organs. The main cause for all types of cancers is the presence of abnormalities in the genetic material of the transformed cells.

Treatment Types:

There are regular treatment methods and also alternate treatment methods for cancer.

The Regular Treatments: Cancer can be treated by surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy and many others methods depends upon the areas of the body and grade of the tumor and the stage of the disease, as well as the general state of the patient. These treatments take lot of effort from the patient, very expensive and have many side effects. The most common treatments for cancer are surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. These treatments have some limitations as no treatment is completely successful in every single case.

Surgery can be very successful in treating some kinds of cancer, but it is not an option for all people. Surgery may not be possible if the cancer has spread to other areas of the body or if the tumor cannot be removed without damaging vital organs, such as the liver or brain.

Chemotherapy is the other method usually used when the cancer has spread to other areas in the body. The side effects of Chemotherapy are very severe. The patients have to take medicines on a long run basis to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy.

Radiotherapy uses radiation in the form of a special kind of x-rays, gamma rays or electrons to damage cancer cells so that they cannot multiply. Radiation dose to each site depends on a number of factors, including whether there are tissues and organs nearby that may be damaged by radiation. Thus, as with every form of treatment, radiation therapy is not without its side effects.

The failure of these treatments to cure cancer completely triggers the need for the search of the alternate treatment methods.

Alternate Treatment Methods: Alternate treatment methods are a group of diverse medical and health care systems, practices, and products that are not presently considered to be part of conventional medicine. Many alternative medicine techniques are part of complete "systems" of healthcare that began many years before the development of conventional medicine. Often, these systems are the healthcare traditions practiced by a given culture. The popular alternate methods are Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, and Acupuncture etc.

The conventional treatment methods concentrate on body, mind and soul to get the best results. Many complementary and alternative therapies are rooted in cultures whose healthcare practices are based on a holistic approach to wellness and healing.

There is a great need of the search for improved quality of life and less toxic therapies, which cures cancer menace completely from the mankind.

A Better Choice Foundation supports the search for a cure for cancer, emphasizing a non- traditional, holistic approach to a patient's Physical and emotional well-being.
Rod Khleif is the founder of A Better Choice Foundation. Rod Khleif and A Better Choice Foundation focus on Research for holistic and non-traditional cures for cancer.

There are documented reports of many people being cured of cancer using only natural methods. Best of all, they work with cancer in any part of the body.

Many doctors may not tell you about these treatments since they can only tell you what is approved by the FDA and what your insurance will cover. Most of these treatments involve using natural herbs and vitamins. The FDA does not control them yet. There are rumors that they are trying to label them as drugs so they can be under their jurisdiction.

Before trying any alternate method of treatment for cancer, you should discuss it with your doctor. There are many doctors whose minds are not closed to other methods of treatment. They really have your best interests at heart and will be willing to discuss these methods and help you decide what is in your best interest. Of course, the bottom line is - you have to decide for yourself what is best for you and your family.

Almost everyone has cancer cells present at times in our bodies. If our immune system is working properly, these cells are killed before they begin to grow and threaten our health.

Since it takes most cancers a long time to grow, science should be able to show us how to destroy any pre-cancerous cells without resorting to chemicals. Researchers have discovered that the nutrients known as omega-3 fatty acids, commonly found in fish oils, protect our bodies against many cancers. Not only cancer but many other diseases we may develop.

Sometimes too many vitamins can be harmful to your health so many experts are cautious about adding them to your diet. They had rather you eat a varied diet consisting of lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Eat more lean cuts of meat and avoid sugar, fats and alcohol. Be one of the lucky few to gain access to these little-known treatments that thousands have used to beat their cancer. Take charge of your health and act NOW!

Hair loss during chemotherapy treatments is almost an inevitable. If treatments go on long enough, the likelihood of you losing your hair is greater than the likelihood of you not losing your hair, and unfortunately that is something that just happens to be accepted.

In some instances, chemotherapy hair loss prevention is an option. For shorter treatments, there are ways to try and stimulate the growth of the hair follicles, but in most cases chemotherapy hair loss prevention is better translated into other options.

As hard as it may be on the self esteem, think of the loss of your hair due to chemotherapy treatments as a new opportunity. Many times, it is better to consider alternatives to chemotherapy hair loss prevention. Hair pieces are a great thing for chemotherapy patients, as they are a great experiment. Use that time to consider the possibilities; many times after hair grows back from chemotherapy treatments, it grows in a different color or a different texture than it was before it fell out. That is exciting for some people, and it tends to make up part of the horrible experience of losing the hair in the first place. At that time, chemotherapy hair loss prevention is not an option anymore, and it is no longer necessary. Scarves are also a popular option in lieu of chemotherapy hair loss prevention. They come in different colors and styles, and can be made to add a flair to any outfit; this can help to boost self esteem so losing the hair turns out not to be so bad after all.

Hair loss during chemotherapy treatments is almost an inevitable. If treatments go on long enough, the likelihood of you losing your hair is greater than the likelihood of you not losing your hair, and unfortunately that is something that just happens to be accepted.

No news is good news, isn’t that what they say? Sometimes “they” can be entirely wrong. Sometimes no news is bad news, the very worst news that you can get. As in the case of cervical cancer for example. The little hell virus lurks undetected and unsuspected for years, multiplying its abnormal cells higher and deeper into the cervical lining until nothing can be done about its invasion and the only conclusion is death. A little timely news in an instance like that would have been good news indeed.

If caught in time cervical cancer is treatable and if treated the recurrence rate of cervical cancer is low. This makes it a good news cancer. Unfortunately it is one of the deadliest cancers around. This is due to its extremely low detection rate. It is caused by the human papillomavirus, which has no symptoms at all. And unless it is specifically tested for, it goes undetected. If you do not find this fact scary as hell, you probably have something scarier.

Many women would rather die than go to a gynaecologyst, spread their legs and be extraordinarily uncomfortable for about 15 minutes. Which is kind of ironic because a percentage will end up with cervical cancer and have to spend large amounts of time with their legs up in the air anyway. If they had done it sooner they could have saved themselves some pain. A cervical smear is all it takes to detect abnormal cells and that smear can be done during your regular internal exam. It doesn’t take long, doesn’t hurt and it could save your life. If that isn’t worth a few minutes of discomfort then I don’t know what is?

What if you do get cancer? What then? Well, as stated previously cervical cancer is a good news cancer, it can be treated if caught early. How long early lasts probably depends on how good your oncologist is and on how good your surgeon is and on how good the communication between the two of them is. It would also depend on the rate of growth of the cancer cells.

Before we all get too depressed it is vitally important that we remember that attitude plays a major role in the healing process. Plato recognised it when he said that, “the part can never be well unless the whole is well”. The medical profession is starting to recognise it as they try to address the treatment of the patient as a balance of all systems, physical, psychological, nutritional etc. Yogi Berra once said about baseball that “90% of this game is half mental”, which is a very American way of putting it. If you ignore the obvious blunder, you can apply that statement to recovering from cancer, indeed any illness. Steve Dunn believes that one very important element in attitude is activity. He believes that you can be pessimistic and active or optimistic and active and still achieve results; it’s the active part that makes the difference. He also believes in the ability to see crisis as an opportunity, not a gift, but an opportunity to reflect on your life, to learn some life lessons, to simply be.

Writers Ernest Rosenbaum MD and Isadora Rosenbaum MA see willingness as important, the willingness to act and believe and live. Helping and sharing with others is important in maintaining links with the world and sharing your pain and sorrow, fear and anger. Close family and friends are especially important here and it’s important that they show their support and not shy away or distance themselves in any way. It’s also important that they don’t make the cancer the person’s whole life, there is still life beyond cancer and the person with cancer is dying to live it. You may think your life boring and insignificant in the face of the fight taking place inside this person’s body but they would love to here about your day and how some dumbhead cut you off in traffic and the string of colourful language that you set sail after them. Doing things to help themselves and others also helps to resolve negative emotions and depression within the cancer sufferer. It brings on feelings of value and worth, and this is important in regaining and maintaining control of their lives and their independence and self-esteem. It is important that they live to the maximum of their capacity and always in the present, never in the past. Set realistic goals but be prepared to compromise. Follow a healthy and improved diet and try to get regular exercise. Finally the most important thing according the Rosenbaums, and probably the most important thing ever any way: Nurture hope.

We could all use a little more hope in our lives. Without hope we might as well all be dead. Hope gives meaning to life, to our presents and to our futures. Hope is not only for the sick and dying. We should all treasure hope and live in hope.

The news that no news is good news is outdated. Early detection is better. Cervical cancer can be treated. Attitude is important. Some attitude factors that are key.

Before we discuss the benefits of the magnets if there is any that would at least reduce the risk of ovarian cancer in ladies, let us discuss what actually ovarian cancer is? It is a deadly disease in which cancerous cells are found in the ovaries (that is two in number and is found to be located on each side of the uterus that store eggs or germ cells and produce female hormones estrogen and progesterone). The input treatment options and the outcome for the patient depend on the type of ovarian cancer and how far it has spread before it is diagnosed because the tumor that forms in the ovary can be benign or even malignant. If it is benign then it can be remove surgically and if it is malignant then it requires long term treatment involving various processes.

HRT or Hormone Replacement Therapy is prescribed to women who are going through the menopause which is very expensive. Though it gives protection against Osteoporosis in later life as well as a significant reduction in the intensity of the symptoms associated with the menopause such as hot flashes, mood swings etc at the same time there have been various scares like Breast cancer, Strokes and Heart Disease with two other major health issues for women currently like the increased risk of contracting Ovarian Cancer, the increased risk of dying from Ovarian Cancer among the women aged 50 and above that links with HRT. Such headlines will surely persuade the women to search and go for seeking alternatives like Magnetic Therapy which is inexpensive and effective option that just might work for you.

Magnetic Therapy is a non-invasive method of applying magnets to body to improve circulation, relieve pain and inflammation. Recently a tiny magnet the size of a 50p was given to a group of women who were going through the menopause to study the effect. Survey revealed that that the entire woman experienced some benefit from the magnet that they were provided with. The symptoms that generally arise due to menopause like anxiety, mood swings, fatigue, sleeping problems, incontinence and breast tenderness were reduced by up to 70 % which could be said one of the enormous benefit provided by the magnet. Wearing the magnet on their underwear for 3 months also improves the Hot flushes, night sweats and irritability. Magnetic Therapy helps to reduce weight loss in women. It is suggested that before you decide to switch on to alternative Magnetic Therapy you need to educate yourself about the alternatives and then take action.

In a 1987 study by the National Cancer Institute, the EPA found an increased risk of bladder cancer with long term consumption of household chlorinated tap water. The EPA says that chlorine is right behind cigarette smoke in leading causes of cancer. An experiment was done on chickens by adding chlorine to their water. The results showed that 95% of them developed terrible atherosclerosis.

Two-thirds of harmful chlorine exposure comes from taking a basic shower. Surprisingly, a 15 minute steamy shower is literally equal to drinking 8 glasses of water. This is due to the fact that the vapors you inhale contain the shower water itself. Because of this issue, almost every home has some type of detectable trace of chlorine in the air. This is because chlorine vaporizes in steam and combines with other organic compounds into chloroform. Chloroform is known to be strong respiratory irritant and causes fatigue. A warm shower opens your pores and allows a high level of absorption. 98% of the water goes down the drain, while about 85% of the chemicals vaporize before the water even hits the ground. After all this, the vapors still remain in the air.

Due to chlorine and the combination of many chemicals used in household cleaning products, the average household air is 5 times more toxic than outdoor. Cancer has been shown to grow twice as fast indoors than outdoors. Taking a shower or bath in chlorinated water also strips the natural protective oils on your skin causing scaling and itching. This is a major problem for those who suffer with eczema.

Just remember to always be cautious as to the type of water you are using to shower. Make sure to use a moisturizer after a shower to keep your skin hydrated and healthy.

Forget weapons of mass destruction, forget terrorism, forget Robert Mugabe, Scientology, Tom Cruise and all the other terrifying things out there that make our world a mine field and that makes the concept of the 1930’s war bunker look slightly less ridiculous.

All of that is bad, granted, but the truly scary stuff, the stuff you can’t see and don’t really understand but that wants to kill you anyway, comes from inside your own body. We are miraculous beings. Essentially we are sacks of liquid with other sacks inside us that perform very specific functions. Some very complex machinery manages a very complex process and we put one foot in front of the other and call it walking. This we do and take for granted.

Sometimes things go wrong and we learn too late not to take things for granted any more.

Sometimes we get sick. Sometimes we get a virus. Bet you think you know where this is going. But you don’t, different virus, different effects, more hope. With this one it’s actually possible to have a happy ending.

The human papillomavirus, not the nastiest piece of work in the world but scary nonetheless. Its scary because unless you actually look for it, its virtually undetectable, its scary because its common as muck and its scary because while it can be almost completely harmless it can cause cervical cancer, vaginal cancer and vulval cancer.

The virus, as stated, is very common, up to 80% of all sexually active women will have had it at some time in their lives. 80%! Most will never know it. It has virtually no symptoms and so passes undetected by nearly everyone who has it. 90% of the women who have it will clear it themselves with the aid of their immune systems. The problem is the other 10%. If the virus is not cleared abnormal cells could develop in the lining of the cervix, these are called CIN cells (cervical intra-epithelial neoplasia cells), which can then become cancerous.

If caught early cervical cancer can be successfully treated. The recurrence rate of cervical cancer is low. There are various types of treatment including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. Surgery options include: electrosurgery –- an electrical current removes the cancerous cells; cryosurgery -– a freezing process destroys the cells; laser therapy –- a laser beams burns the cells off; conization or cone biopsy –- a piece of cone shaped tissue is removed from the cervix.

If you are one of those people who has come to think of cancer as being no worse than say pneumonia, because there are so many different types of therapies out there and vaccines and, “doesn’t practically everyone recover these days anyway?” Then maybe you should read the next few lines.

In Europe, cervical cancer is the second leading cause of death by cancer in women aged 15 –- 44 (breast cancer is the leading cancer killer). Around 40 women die every day from cervical cancer in Europe. This is in Europe, the developed world. In the developing world things are much worse, take some statistics from South Africa for example. Cervical cancer is the most common cancer in black women at 31.2%. In white women the figure is only 2.7%. That says a lot about access to doctors and testing facilities but before anyone gets all het up about that fact we must add some important information. Cultural factors also have to taken into account. In some black cultures the women see their wombs and vaginas as belonging to their husbands so when they have to have smears (they call it “hanging their feet”) it disagrees completely with what they believe culturally because they have to give someone else access to what is essentially their husbands’ property. You may not agree with it. You don’t have to. Thanks to many programmes sponsored by many non--profit organisations, however, this perception is changing and more and more women are coming to be tested and treated.

This is one disease that can have a happy ending. It depends a lot on early detection and treatment but as with all other illnesses a lot depends on the patient’s attitude. A healthy and positive outlook and the love and support of family and friends will do more good than medicine alone. She may be your mother, sister, daughter or friend, your wife, girlfriend or niece, if you love her, tell her.

The scary fact that the virus is undetectable and is incredibly common. Methods of treatment for cervical cancer. There is hope, it is treatable.

Following skin cancer, prostate cancer is now the most commonly seen type of cancer in American men and it is predicted that in the region of 219,000 men in the US will be diagnosed as having prostate cancer during 2007 and that approximately 27,000 men will die from the condition.

But, as is the case with many diseases, prostate cancer survival rates are not the same across the world and this fact should give us the data which will permit us to improve our treatment methods.

In a recent study data was examined on around 117,000 men diagnosed with prostate cancer (approximately 108,000 white men and almost 9,000 Asians drawn from the six largest Asian ethnic groups - Japanese, South Asian, Korean, Filipino, Chinese and Vietnamese). The study examined prognostic factors and survival rates for these men.

Amongst the various findings of the study it was found that the risk profile for Asian men was worse than that for whites, with Asians being more likely to suffer from advanced cases of the condition by the time of diagnosis and of receiving treatment with a variety of non-curative therapies. But, the study also found that the survival rates for Asian men were either equal to or better than those for white men.

These results were especially surprising when we note that the age at which Asian men are diagnosed as having prostate cancer is significantly higher than that for white men and that their cancers are frequently more advanced, which should clearly suggest a lower survival rate.

When the figures were examined in more detail however it was revealed that there was considerable variation between different Asian groups. For example, Japanese-American men were one-third less likely to die from prostate cancer, while men from South Asia (including India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Bhutan) were forty percent more likely to die from the condition.

So just what does this mean? Unfortunately the answer would appear to be not a great deal. These variations are undoubtedly large enough to be significant, however the wide variation between several largely similar groups makes it virtually impossible to draw any real conclusions. Without doubt there are a number of things, like diet, exercise and genetics, which are a factor but several of the findings seem to be almost contradictory.

In consequence, a study which it was hoped would identify differences across ethic groups which would permit us to improve prostate cancer treatment has actually produced more questions that it has answered. Indeed, apart from exentuating the dangers of reaching conclusions based upon too large a group, as witnessed in the difference in the figures for Asian men as a whole and men from just South Asia, the study has revealed that the differences were larger than many people had believed and thus suggest that these variations may be more significant than previously believed.

At the end of the day, this study has not taken us any further forward however has highlighted the need for further investigation which will hopefully give us better data and allow us to take advantage of the better survival rates amongst many Asian men in drawing up treatment plans for prostate cancer.

It is crucial that you are able to recognize the signs of skin cancer. The most important thing to remember is that you should always seek the advice of a medical professional when in doubt. It is always better to be safe. If skin cancer is caught early, it can be treated with successful results. However, the longer that you wait could pose a potential health risk. One of the positive aspects is that skin cancer can usually be detected in early stages.

Skin cancer usually develops in the epidermis (the outermost layer of skin). It can develop on the face, neck, hands and arms but is not exclusive to these areas. Thus, you should be aware of any change to your skin at any part of your body.

According to Wikipedia, here are some signs of skin cancer: "There are a variety of different skin cancer symptoms. These include crabs or changes in the skin that do not heal, ulcers in the skin, discoloration, and changes in existing moles.

Basal cell carcinoma usually looks like a raised, smooth, pearly bump on the sun-exposed skin of the head, neck or shoulders. Sometimes small blood vessels can be seen within the tumor. Crusting and bleeding in the center of the tumor frequently develops. It is often mistaken for a sore that does not heal.

Squamous cell carcinoma is commonly a red, scaling, thickened patch on sun-exposed skin. Ulceration and bleeding may occur. When SCC is not treated, it may develop into a large mass.

Most melanomas are brown to black looking lesions. Signs that might indicate a malignant melanoma include change in size, shape, color or elevation of a mole. The appearance of a new mole during adulthood, or new pain, itching, ulceration or bleeding of an existing mole should be checked."

If you have any questions about something that could be skin cancer, please make an appointment with a doctor and get it checked out. Prevention also plays a key role here and you should use sunscreen (spf 30 or greater) when you are out in the sun. If it is an overcast day, you can still wear sunscreen to be on the safe side. If you have children, you might want to consider using a higher spf than 30.

Keep in mind that if you are told you need a hysterectomy there is nothing wrong with getting a second opinion. In fact, a respectable doctor will even recommend it.

You always have the option of getting a second opinion when you are told that you need a hysterectomy, and it is recommended that you do so. You need to understand what this procedure includes and if you have question it is important that you discuss them with your doctor. In some cases you may not have any other option if your life is at stake. However, in other cases you may be able to try something else first.

There are some risks that you need to consider before you have a hysterectomy. One of them includes losing to much blood to the point of needed a blood transfusion. This is a very possible risk that you need to understand. In some rare cases women have suffered a bladder or a bowel injury and it is possible to pull open the wound during the recovery time. You run the risk of having problems with the anesthesia and as with any operation you run the risk of infection. Keep these risks in mind and discuss them with your doctor.

You need to plan your recovery time in advance of having a hysterectomy. You will need at least six to eight weeks and you will need someone to help you out during this time. The first seven to ten days will be spent in the hospital and then if things are going well, you will be released to go home. No one can say for sure exactly how long it will take you to recover as everyone is different, but the time mentioned above is average. Follow all the rules that you were given to avoid complication and to help your body heal.

A guide on how to prevent, detect and survive prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer claims its turf silently. The tumor grows in the prostate gland discreetly without any obvious symptoms until an advanced stage of growth is reached. The symptoms that do show up at this stage are too mellow to be associated with something as serious as cancer, and men usually ignore them attributing them simply to signs of advancing age.

Any man will get Prostate Cancer if he lives long enough. How come? 70% of all men above 90 have a tumor of some kind in his prostate gland. Nobody is immune to this deadly cancer. The only means of protection is to know it in and out and to detect it early on.

Billions have been spent on researching Prostate Cancer and none of that has resulted in a solid conclusion as to how it is caused although some factors that influence its formation have been identified conclusively. For instance, the age of a person affects the probability of cancer considerably. The older you are the higher is your chance of having prostate cancer. Men of African-American descent are genetically predisposed towards prostate cancer, and so are men who habitually consume a diet rich in fat and predictably so.

It is quite possible to detect prostate cancer before it reaches an advanced stage through one of the various tests that are available. The most rudimentary of them all is the rectal analysis which is conducted to determine whether there is an enlargement of the prostate gland. The DRE, as it is referred to, is the ingenuous process of inserting a gloved and lubricated finger into the back passage to actually feel the prostate gland to determine its size. Ultrasound test, a more refined version of this test, is performed by inserting an ultrasound probe instead of the customary finger of the rectal analysis. Another noteworthy procedure that joins this league is the biopsy where small cylindrical tissue cores are extracted from the prostate gland itself by the use of a probe with a special spring loaded needle. These samples are then analyzed under a microscope to detect instances of cancerous growth.

Although these tests sound macabre and intimidating, there is a blood test that could determine Prostate Cancer. The PSA test (Prostate Specific Antigen test) is performed by extracting a blood sample from the patient and analyzing this sample for abnormally high levels of a particular antigen produced in the prostate gland, high levels of which are a telltale sign of Prostate Cancer.

When prostate cancer is detected early on, there is a very high probability of achieving a complete cure without a possibility of recurrence. Early detection of Prostate Cancer is the key to a successful cure since for a case where the tumor growth has advanced to the bones; even surgery simply fails to cut it, literally.

A recent study at Rutgers University found that caffeine and exercise may help prevent skin cancer. The tumor suppressing protein, phospho-p53, is boosted by 18% with exercise and is boosted 27% by drinking two cups of coffee. When exercise and caffeine are combined the effects are much more dramatic...the levels of this protein are doubled!

Although it appears that exercise and coffee each have health benefits, combining them together seems to have the greatest impact. The ability to double the level of a tumor-blocking protein is outstanding news.

"We think this points out a need for more studies to see if the combination will protect people against sunlight-induced skin cancer," said the study's Senior Researcher, Allan Conney, the Director of the Laboratory for Cancer Research at Rutgers University.

This research was conducted as a result of a previous study on Green Tea. It was found that only the caffeinated version of Green Tea helped get rid of DNA damaged skin cells. The decaffeinated Green Tea had no effect to repair damaged skin cells.

Here is a Great Way to Combine Caffeine and Exercise for Maximum Benefits

1) Don't eat anything 4 hours before working out

2) Drink 3-4 cups of green tea or two cups of coffee, 30 minutes before your scheduled workout

3) Perform intense interval training cardio for an extended time to take advantage of caffeine's fat burning potential

See...I knew my "Double Tall Iced Americano" was doing me some good! Yeah...I live in Seattle and espresso is consumed about as much as water. Now don't think you can order all those fancy drinks with caramel, chocolate, cream, etc...you have to go plain...stick with black coffee or tea without sugar.

So caffeine will give you the energy to exercise hard while on a low calorie diet. This will help you burn body fat at a quicker rate...as well as reduce your chances of getting skin cancer. I see nothing but positives here!

I was about 18 years old when I first felt the nodule on my throat and didn't think much about it and didn't make mention to anyone about it. It was about the size of a pea then and when it was removed, when I was 29, it was a little smaller than a ping pong ball. It was thyroid cancer. My thyroid was removed, started the synthroid, had a little radioactive iodine, etc, etc, etc. If you have experienced thyroid cancer, you know the drill. And that is what it was for me; a drill, a procedure, a way to "get better", but I knew, I knew the reason why it came into my experience. I created it. I created the cancer in my body, simply by my thought and belief that I could not express myself.

For those of you who have experienced thyroid cancer, know exactly what I am talking about. When I was a kids growing up, I had no idea how to express myself. I always silenced my thoughts and feelings from the outside world. I would just blatantly lie to someone and tell them something I thought they wanted to hear when they would ask, How are you?, What are you up to?, questions about ME. My brain would say, "No way I am not letting you in..."

Well, I am here to tell you that the cause of my cancer was directly related to my lack of self expression. I would allow myself to build up all this emotion, energy, fear, rage, anger, resentment and I would put it into a big pot that I would close and lock up. Over time, I would put this closed pot over heat and allow it to simmer, until one day, and many times over the course of a year, the pot just exploded.

My family, my friends, my colleagues, my ex-wife, my daughter all knew what that looked like and each time it would happen I would make myself wrong for it which would intern perpetuate the cycle of lack of self expression.

I knew it was time for me to start becoming self expressed in who I am. This is part of the journey that landed me into coaching and public speaking. The purpose of who I am is to have a global impact to society in this conversation of self growth and personal power. To support that purpose, who I am is honesty, truth, integrity and commitment.

Even just the word cancer is an interesting illusion because when we hear the word cancer, we immediately equate to death and someone we know, who had cancer. Its no wonder why so many people are generating cancer in their bodies, fear perpetuates fear and the more fear about getting something, the more we get it into our experience.

Remember, I was exactly where you are and understand the experience that is showing up in your life. It does not matter if it was thyroid cancer, brain cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer, we created it all and we can create something other than what is there right now.

Now, I coach others, just like you and me, on moving from the experiences of cancer and dis-ease in our immediate now into the experience of who they truly are in their expression of the true self. I believe that all dis-ease and illness, ailments, etc. are a direct causation from our thoughts about ourselves over time that have manifested in our bodies. I am here to tell you that each one of us has attracted the experience in. I am also here to teach you how to attract the experiences you want in your life through the laws of attraction. The very same laws that attracted the dis-ease we didn't want into our lives. You can use the laws of attraction to your advantage and sustain the experiences you want in your life.

Truth About Cancer That Your Doctor Doesnt Know

Early detection of kidney cancer is difficult. This is not unlike most cancers. The overall survival rate of kidney cancer is around 40 percent, with surgery being the primary treatment. Treatment is most successful if the cancer cells are localised. To prevent kidney cancer, it is important to understand what risk factors contribute to increased risks.

Although kidneys are fairly small, they can do much for your body. Kidneys look like beans and come in a pair. Each kidney is just a little bigger than your computer mouse and weigh just about a quarter of a pound at 4 maybe 5 ounces. Your kidneys can be found in the upper abdominal cavity and is anchored to its back wall, one on each side of your spinal column. The lower ribcage provides some protection to your kidneys, just like your liver.

You can get by with one kidney, if the other one fails. However, if both fails, then you may need a procedure known as kidney dialysis.

Your kidney is a housekeeper for your body. It helps to remove all waste products, excess salt, and water by filtering these from your blood and disposing of them via your urine. If your kidneys fail to function, your blood can become toxic and this can result in harmful consequences. Urine from the kidneys travels through ureters to your bladder where they collect until expelled by urination. Your kidneys also produce substances that contribute to controlling blood pressure and red blood cell production.

What happens when you have kidney cancer? Symptoms of kidney cancer include blood in the urine, lingering pain on the side, abdomen, or back and sudden weight loss. If you have kidney cancer, you also experience an overall sense of weakness.

The most common form of kidney cancer is renal cell carcinoma (RCC). This easily makes up more than 90 percent of all cancerous tumours. There are five main types of RCC: clear cell RCC, papillary RCC, and three minor ones. Clear cell RCC comprises 80 percent of all renal cell carcinomas, which suggests 72 percent of all kidney cancers. Papillary RCC occurs in 10 to 15 percent of all RCCs.

Other types of cancers affecting the kidneys are transitional cell carcinoma, renal sarcoma, and Wilms tumour. Transitional cell carcinomas occur in the renal pelvis, the connection between the kidney and ureter, and make up at most one-tenth of all kidney cancers. Wilms tumour happens almost exclusively in children; it can comprise 5 to 6 percent of kidney tumours. Renal sarcoma is quite rare.

Risks to kidney cancer increases with the following factors:

1. Kidney cancer, like bladder cancer, happens more among men who are twice as likely as women to get it.

2. Genetic factors may play a part. If you have a parent or a relative who has had kidney cancer, then your chances to developing one increases.

3. Smoking causes kidney cancer, and men who smoke more than 2 packs a day have double the risk compared with non-smokers. Unfortunately, cutting the habit does not help too much. Studies show that after 15 years of cessation, the risk of cancer in former smokers is only 15 to 25 percent lower than among current smokers.

4. Obesity is a risk factor, especially among women. High blood pressure also increases risk.

5. Some occupations expose workers to cancer-causing chemicals. Steel workers assigned to coke ovens are at risk, as are workers in asbestos and cadmium.

If you suspect that you have increased risks, then it is best to see your doctor regularly for a physical check-up. You need to keep healthy in order to prevent kidney disease. You may also wish to do regular kidney cleansing to reduce your risks to developing cancer.
